I ran into him at a restaurant several years back, he's several inches taller than my 5'10".
I'm going to say 6'2"-3". It's the width that throws off a lot of people's guesses. I have a co-worker of a similar build claiming 6'5" (I can look directly at his chin), and I'm sure he's got almost 2" on John (I think I was looking nose level).

Don't know about what Bear says about how hung, but a few of those Flintstones publicity shots and John's sporting a sundial that is NOT on his arm, there! Look for the one with him leaning on the mailbox for an example. Maybe his girth is hiding/overshadowing it the rest of the time and/or he's really a grower? He had to be doubling up underwear in the "Everybody's All-American" hotel party scene. Probably the best place to compare his height, as he's down to boxers.

There are also some recent "Speed Racer" cast publicity shots to compare his slimmer build to Susan Sarandon, Matthew Fox, and Emile Hirsch.

Obesity can cause poor posture or perhaps a perminant lost in height,I mean Goodman has always been a big dude butin the 90's he became Obese.Check out the fallen movie,Denzel is 6'1" and Goodman is an inch taller than him so 6'3" peak and now 6'2",Goodman is the kind of guy that you would say is well over six feet tall,but now that he's 6'2" you'll say he's a little over six feet.

Danimal - I'd agree to 6'2" easily. You're assuming that Tom Arnold and Michael O'Keefe (Jackie's BF) are 6'2", both of which I believe are 6'1", max.

He could have been 6'3", I don't know. I'm just saying I'd rarely rely on a college height listing as accurate. From high school on, these guys are routinely listed an inch or two above their heights. No doubt about it, a pretty big guy.

Don't forget that in "The Big Lebowski," he was a solid inch taller than Bridges in every scene. Bridges wore slippers throughout the film and I'm pretty sure Goodman was in bowling shoes.

SF, Goodman had a solid inch on Tom Arnold on Roseanne on ALL occasions and Tom was 6'1"-6'2" himself. Goodman was AS TALL as Fred (JAckie's bf), who was 6'2" himself. Come on, Goodman was a TALL man all throughout the 80's (an INCH shorter than that big 6'4" BRUTE in Nerds) and the 90's and YES, the 3 times I've seen him on Letterman, Goodman had a solid inch on him and was 1 MAX 2" shorter than Conan Obrien as later as 2001. Something has happened to this man since then.

I agree with Glenn's assumption here, if you look at the shoulder levels Goodman already has 2 inches on Glenn and his shoulders are massively slouched. Come on guys, he was listed at 6'3" and 285 in his college days. Nothing under 6'2". Conan O'brien had 1-2" on him from his MANY appearances on the show. I read an article on his from the early to mid 1990's, where he was going on a diet and had just gone to the doctor and was said to have lost 30 pounds on his 6'3" frame, going from 335 to 305 pounds. He's nothing less than 6'2". He was always taller than Tom Arnold on the show by about an inch.
