It’s hard to tell how tall Walton is today at that age. I doubt he was really much over 6’11” peak maybe 6’11.5. People love to exaggerate how tall people are for some reason which includes but is not limited to measuring or assessing someone’s height in shoes often to make themselves taller by inflating the other person. Or inflating another basketball player to make them taller by first inflating a Bill Walton who used his barefoot height as well. Key to remember is a lot of those centers of that era or the era following were inflated. Including Patrick Ewing who was a hair under 6’10 by his own admission and Hakeem Olajuwon who was 6’9” range as well David Robinson who was 6’11” (only about an inch taller than Duncan who is 6’10).

@Junior: I agree with you. Durant isn’t as tall as Duncan and only about half inch on 6’8.75 serge ibaka best case 2cm and that’s if ibaka is actually that at is his low and not 6’8.5 possibly. He’s no higher than rob has him listed here

Editor RobBill only really claims 6ft 11, but I gave him close to 7ft. Today he might actually be 6ft 11 flat and you can certainly argue KD is around 6ft 10

Well said Christian. Another one to add to that was Scottie Pippen when he played in Chicago was listed 6’7” back then. He may have been 6’6.5-6’7 but was a good roundup vs a shoe height. But the other guys you mentioned are close to their barefoot heights. KD may be a hair above 6’9” like rob’s original 6’9.25 or could only be classic 6’9. I think 6’9-6’9.5 is the most. That’s how he looks next to Draymond Green who is about 6’5/6’5.25. You would probably edge Green (nothing noticeable) imho or be the exact same as him on the days you come down to 6’5.25

A lot of people I know especially basketball fans and some of my friends believe Durant's underlisted by NBA and is actually 6'11". That's because they base it off on other players' offical listings which are inflated. When the truth is Durant's not underlisted. It's just that other players are overlisted. Only other guys I know in the modern era whose listings are pretty legit are Garnett, Tim Duncan and Pau Gasol. I'm sure there's more but I'm not a huge bball fan so I don't know any others.

For those that get things confused . Embiid is 7ft1.5 in shoes or rounded up 7ft2 . 7ft barefoot . All those guys are measured in shoes . Idk why embiid hasnt been upgraded to 7ft2 in shoes though . he's legit 7ft2 in shoes.

I think Embiid is a very strong 7'. Probably wakes up to 7'1", Kg is a very strong 6'11" himself and there is a noticeable height difference to the two.

I’m not denying KD isn’t over 6’9” but I doubt it’s by that much. Maybe strong 6’9” like 6’9.25-.5. He doesn’t look more than maybe 4-4.25” taller than Draymond green. I'm 19 now btw and yes I'm still growing(much slower rate). As far as people growing over 18 their have only been a hand full of people who I've known who have grown over an inch,so it's pretty rare. most guys I knew stopped growing at 16-17 junior of high school.

Most of us stop growing at 17-18. There are some people stopping at 15 as so at 18-20 can be possible but small fraction, moreover so in players, if they are developed and they have reached ready for playing elite they are already adults. Normally people who grow after 18-21 are just kids who wouldn't never reach first level in sport until they are fully developed

It's not impossible that you could've measured very early in the day, and think that you're a legit 6'8" at your lowest, and assumed Jordan to be over 6'10" because he looked 2 inches taller than you based on you being really 6'8". I'm not saying that you're not a legit 6'8", or that it's impossible that Jordan to have grown a bit since his 2008 pre draft measurement, but I strongly doubt he's 6'10" because he never looks it next to any players.

The NBA lists its players in shoes that is common knowledge. They also list Carmelo Anthony as 6'8". He's 6'6" I've stood right in front of him and Durant is not 4" taller than he is. Nor is Lebron 2" taller than Melo it's less than 1". Caron butler is listed 6'7" but stood next to him as well and he's 6'5". I can see Embiid growing but that means 7'0" barefoot. How is he 7'2" barefoot next to Ben Simmons? Simmons is 6'8/6'9. I'm not the one downgrading players you are the one upgrading them so quit it

Agree with you on Melo and your perspective on taller heights. I think 196 is about as tall as one would want because it keeps you somewhat normal in daily life not having to duck much since it puts you at 198-199 in shoes. As for Melo, I met him before and he was 1.5-2" taller than I am (According to my wife and others standing next to us). I'm 193.9 at my lowest. I would estimate him to be 6'6-6'6.25. 198.5 is perfect for him! That's a lot of why I believe many of the other measurements for players are off which many of them likely are such as Dwyane Wade and don't believe Lebron is a full inch taller than Lebron but may be wrong there (i'd put LeBron at 6'7 max maybe 6'6.75 evening height). The guy was 6'9" when he was nearing 17 going on 18 in 2006, and then was measured 6'9" again barefoot. He was done growing. I don't think he grew a half an inch since then. When you know the real heights of NBA players he looks 6'9".

Seeing him play in person several years ago I'd say a soft 6'10" barefoot, 6'11" or close to 7' in shoes. He's one of those rangy thin, long-limbed guys who always gets pegged for being taller than he is. He has terrible posture so it's hard to say exactly but needless to say he's enormously tall.

@Joe: AD is tough to call. He was at an age where he could've grown but don't believe an entire inch. Looking at him with Boogie he doesn't look much taller than him so maybe his 6'10 is a morning measurement and he's really 6'9 and change like you said.

I believe his measurement or at least perception of it will vary from one perso. To the next depending upon what they think their true height is. If he's measured at a morning practice he's gonna be closer to 6'10 (slightly under because he will likely have been up an hour or two already) whereas afternoon may be closer to 6'9".

6'9.5 tops and with contemporaries and the fact many sports heights probably aren't lowest heights this is a safe measurement for him. He may drop to 6'9.25 with a long torso like he has as well but I don't think he's a flat 6'9" normally

I still feel GS wins it in 5 since they go back to the Bay Area but a worst case 6. but what you said is spot on that Lebron was in this situation last year and ran the table games 5-7!! I have noticed that games 3 and 4 Cleveland ran small (especially in game 3) and was a lot for GS to handle (they had to move draymond to the 5 which they've done a lot over the last 3 years) but with Thompson having improved and a healthy love it's a lot for he and Iggy to handle. However now you have Durant who is surprisingly a great defender this year and goes toe to toe with Lebron every day

196.2 at night (If I'm sedentary that day, I can hold 196.4-.5)
So between 5-7 hrs of waking up, I'm 196.5 on average, so that's right in the middle of 6'5.25" and 6'5.5" The lowest measured height I've ever gone was 195.4, but that was after having not slept or laid down for a couple days.

I respect you for rounding down your height. If I was in your shoes I would've claimed 6ft5, just like the majority of people. @Shane: I guess guys a few inches shorter around your height may do that even legit 6'3" guys claim 6'5 but I don't see many guys that aren't a true 6'6" claim to be 6'6" if they aren't unless they are playing ball at some level or unless they maybe get measured early and round up or maybe a heavier guy offsetting his weight. I'd say once you're not coming down below maybe 6'5.5-6'6" is where it begins really because you're usually in flats or slouching since Here in the states doorways are 6'7 and 6'8. I'd say where Christian is heightwise as well as my friend mentioned are about as tall as you could be 6'5.25-.5 to where you are still able to get by in a normal pair of sneaks without much ducking because it's put you around 6'6.25-6'6.5 probably at most which is not quite as bad as it's essentially the same as a normal 6'4.75-6'5 guy in a pair of boots which you do see often

Out of bed I'm like 195.8cm so you're right in some sneaks out of bed I would be probably a hair over 6'6.5 in sneaks. Heck, measured out of bed at nba combine you could push close to 6'7" with the 1.5 inch footwear many players wear and I've seen guys your height in pro and,college with the 6'7" roster listing. Look up All-Star weekend photo from 2015 and he is shorter than Duncan who is 6'10"-6'10.25" and was listed at 6'10" in Wake Forrest.
