I was a huge fan too Danimal. One of my all time favorite sitcoms. I remember one episode when Diane I think is dating this guy named Lance. I remember Sam is jealous that women find Lance better looking so he takes Lance's drivers license looks at it and laughs. He then says "It says here that you're 6-2", Lance replies "so" and Sam says "I'm 6-3". I agree on 6'3" peak, he towered over everyone on that show.

I LOVED Cheers. I was a fanatic of the show and I remember taping the final episode. Ted was Sam (Ted's character) had been referred to as being a former 6'3" ball player in various episodes over the years on the show. I think he may have dropped to 6'2" since then. He is in his early 60's now. Could even be a 1/4" inch under 6'2" today, but he was a full 6'3" back in the day. He had at least 2-3" on Kelsey Grammer and at least 2" on then 6'0"-6'1" Leslie Nielson in 1981, in Creepshow).

He towers over Tom Hanks in 'Saving Private Ryan' Tom looks about 5'11 and Ted is easily 6'2 there is at least 3 inches height difference between them

Ted was 6'4 in his a-day i think, now 6'2 1/2 or 6'3 possibly, still a tall guy, he appeared on frasier once back in 1994 and was 3 inches taller than kelsey grammer who is 6'1 so that shows he was 6'4 maybe a shrunk a bit since then though.

A solid 6'2.5 for Ted he always looked to be that, I did see him in person walking in Manhattan with a trench coat near Grand Central, I was holding my tea and he was holding his coffee or tea and we were both holding them in the same way and both walking briskly but he was going in the opposite direction, had a good look at how tall he was and 6'2.5 seems right on the mark.

Before and ten years ago or so, when Becker was on, “6 feet” was the generalized term for anyone in the range of 6 feet (i.e., 6-0 to 6-2, maybe 6-3). My mother always insists with pride that I’m “6 feet tall,” but I’m taller. It’s really only a generalization. Now, though, people tend to be more precise. 6 feet really does mean 6 feet in our modern vernacular, and people who are taller never miss an opportunity to point this out.

I personally think Ted Danson has always looked to be about 6-3, but his “hair” has always been worn high, so…

In the episode of "Frasier" in which Danson's character from "Cheers" visits Seattle, Danson looks about 2 to 3 inches taller than 6'1'' Kelsey Grammar. I know Grammar is a solid 6'1'', so could their significant height difference be due to Danson's "high" hairstyle? Well, I think Danson could easily pass for 6'3'', or taller, even. He's clearly a big man.

Well I saw him on again on Conan tonight and I have to say that he looked his 6'2.5 estimate next to him. Conan even made a remark early in the interview about how it strikes him ow tall he is. Why would conan say that if he is shorter than him? Anyway I don't know why I saw 6'5 last time but his height seems to be corrwct.

His height was always wrong because he wore that hair job of his like an afro. It stuck up over his skull like two inches, that is where 6'3 came from. 6'1 to the bald head he has now(sans the wig).

In the episode of Cheers where he states how tall he is, the Diane character brings in a student who has a crush on her to try to get Sam Malone jealous. Sam asks the student how tall he is and when the student says 6'2", Sam laughs and says "Ha...I'm 6'2 1/2"! Seems to me that you got his height bang on here.

In 3 Men and a Baby I seem to remember Danson as being shorter than Selleck by an inch or two. There is a photo linked from this site of Selleck next to 6'5'' or 6'6'' Chuck Connors and he looks dwarfed. Danson does look like a genuine 6'2'' guy though. He has that tall rangy look about him.

Danson is not 6"2, in mug photos in the movie getting even with dad , he has a shot with shoes on obviously and it shows him to be like 6"5, so id say hes over 6"3 with no shoes easy.
