Now, the thing you have to remember about movies is that when someone says "he looks like he has 4 inches over so and so here!!!" or whatever, is that it's a movie. The actor could well be wearing taller shoes or lifts to suit the scene. Personally though, I think Robbins is taller than 6'4.5". At least 6'5", if not 6'6" because 6'6" is pretty tall, but anyway Robbins is a big, big man. I would personally just say 6'5".

A legit 6'4.5"-6'5" (morning height is 6'5" verified by Robbins) then he will easily come across as a good 6'6" in shoes especially as he has unusually good posture for a man this height. And yes some people forget just how tall a solid 6'4.5" barefoot measurement is, it is the boundary for "super tall".

As i said before, you people should try, like thekiddd, see "The Player" movie, it's all there in the line up scene.
Without a doubt, Tim is a big fellow and like someone said, a legit 6.4,5 - 6.5 is really very tall.

The movie also has 6.3,5 D'onofrio but he has has cowboy boots so he looks almost as tall as Robbins with flat shoes, maybe 6'5.

Alex V well and if you look at 6'4 guys like Liam Neeson they can look 6'3 or even as low as 6'2 in pics because of bad posture. Mind you Dolph Lungren always stands with good posture but he only looks 6'2.5 in pics. Josh Duhamel is lanky as well and stands with good posture which is why he can look 6'5 in pics even though he isn't.

You're right James, Robbins has a good posture which makes him look taller than he really is. In the "IQ" movie with Robbins and Fry, Robbins seemed easy, taller than Fry because Fry has a bit "lazy" posture but after seeing carefully, i noticed that they were(are)the same height.

I think Tim Robbins is one of those rare 6'4-6'5 guys that actually stands with good posture, which is why he can look taller. Its like how 6ft guys can look 6'2 in pics sometimes.

I sometimes wonder because some sources have Robbins at 6'5" and other sources at 6'4.5" so why can't we put his height at 6'4.75"? I'm with thekiddd and Big King in this. I saw "The Player" some time ago, and Robbins in the line up scene, was with flat shoes, between 6'5 and 6'6" so he CAN´T be more than this without shoes. For me, Robbins is a legit 1m95.

Big King I would say a legit 6'4"+ is a height that begins to stands out noticeably in the "west". A legit 6'4" barefoot is very rare and those guys loom above the vast majority of people. 6'4" is the maximum they cater for on public transport etc. Anything over 6 foot stands out in many developing world countries where the guys average out at 5'6", many shorter than this.

Most people lose .5" by 40 and .5" every decade after that. So, I believe that Tim at 50 could have lost up to an inch in height. I personally believe the man between 6'6" and 6'7" in his younger days (15-20 years ago). No way was he only 6'4.5". He towered Morgan Freeman by many inches in 1994.

I mean, there is also an actor named Christopher Lee who is 6'5" and who has downgraded his height to 6'4" but Rob still lists his peak height at 6'5". I wonder why Rob won't give Robins 6'5" too on this page. No matter what Robbins said about his height. That guy is at least 6'5". That's that!

That's really strange for example. In Big Momma's House 2 and in Wild Hogs, the 6'6" mentioned Kevin Durand didn't look huge beside Martin Lawrence but Tim Robbins looked like a giant beside Lawrence. It is 100% sure that Robbins might be taller than Kevin Durand. Screw that 6'6" for Kevin Durand, I also told Rob that it would be better and more realistic to give Durand 6'5" or maybe 6'5 1/2" or something in that way. Durand is not a full 6'6"!

I mean, in the film Big Momma's House 2, Lawrence was standing in front of Kevin Durand and Durand looked almost a head taller than Lawrence and in the film Nothing to Loose, Tim Robins looked more than a head taller than Lawrence. Robbins is certainly not shorter than Durand. I guess Robbins and Durand are around 6'5 1/2".

Robbins looked huge beside Martin Lawrence in the film Nothing to lose. I'm sure that there was almost a foot height difference between them. If Robins is 6'5" then Lawrence is no more than 5'7" or under. Another strange thing is that Robbins looked a lot taller beside Martin Lawrence than Kevin Durand who is at 6'6" on CelebHeights.

In that baseball movie with Kevin Costner,Eight Men Out I think,he didn't look over 6'5,I've seen him plenty of times in other stuff looking taller than 6'5 however,Shawshank being one example.

Wait a minute, after viewing some great new pictures I found, I now believe that Tim Robbins is easily 6'5˝", but more like 6'6" and above. Just look at these:

Tim easily has a whole foot on both of them. Of course he does have the higher ground, I can't imagine there being that much of a difference even on level ground. And plus Tim has his head hanging down too and still has at least 1 foot on them

Ok, after all the evidence, pictures ect., I have come up with a conclusion that Tim is 6' 5" without shoes and 6'6" in shoes. Everybody can agree with that now can't they? Now if only his height could be upgraded on this site.

Again, a fellow actor who worked on the set with him described in as being 6'7". He had inches on Morgan Freeman, who was still CLOSE to 6'3" in Shawshank Redemption.

James, I don't think that Robbins wears lifts but he's clearly over 6'4 1/2", that's for sure because he's at least 6'5". He's almost 6'6" tall but it seems that Robbins doesn't care about his height. He's maybe using his lowest height. Maybe he's 6'4 1/2" at night but in the forenoon, he's surely at least 6'5" as mentioned. So taking his height as 6'5 1/2" won't be wrong. That's his true height I guess!

He looked 6-6 on video standing behind 5-10 1/2-5-11 John Edwards. The guy was sorrounded by people and he looked like a skyscraper. Towered everyone with ease. I was surprised.

James, I don't believe that Robbins is 6'6" out of bed because otherwise his real height would be 6'6" but I guess he is 6'5" in the forenoon and 6'4 1/2" late in the afternoon or even in the evening. Maybe Robbins doesn't care about his height but claiming his worst height is nonsense and James, keep in mind: Glenn is 5'8" out of bed too and he uses this height as his real height. I use my forenoon height too. I'm 6'5" in the forenoon, just like Tim Robbins I guess.

Tim has a pretty big head (well hes a big dude lol). For his closed mouth to be at glens 173cm head, he'd have to be at least 195cm barefoot. I dont see him being taller then vince vaugn, but he could be. Id say 196.5 morning, 195 afternoon, 194 night.

Had about 4" on Morgan Freeman in Shawshank and Morgan was nothing less than 6'2"-6'3" 15 years ago. I say that Robbins was minimum 6'6" in his younger days and downgraded his own height. If he didn't, then he was the tallest 6'4.5"-6'5" actor of all time, making other very tall actors (Danny Aiello in Jacob's Ladder) look tiny.

I am 'only' 6'4.5". I hear 'estimates' of 6'5"-6'6" constantly, but they're

In "The Player" movie, there is a lineup scene. Tim is wearing flat shoes and the mark is 6'5 1/2. You people should see the movie and judge for yourself...
