I think he might be a bit under 6'1", the reasoning behind my estimate is when he met with David Cameron, the two men largely stood shoulder to shoulder in similar footwear, David Cameron is 184 cm or 6' 0.5" tall, a lot of me with this measurements call themselves 6'1". Its likely Obama will compete against Mitt Romney who is 6'2" but looks even taller, Romney towers over Ron Paul who is 5'11".

I'm Norwegian myself, and 187 cm sounds about right for Stoltenberg, that's roughly how tall i thought he was. He's certainly nothing under 6'1", and as we can see in your photo he's barely taller than Obama. I used to believe Obama was more of a strong 6' guy than 6'1", but after seeing this pic i definitely think 6'1" is fair for him, and if not then very close to it at least. i gave a roughly accurate measurement estimate for president-obama :
out of bed : 186cm
mid morning : 184.5-185cm
afternoon 1-5pm : 184cm flat.
evening/night : 183.5cm - 184cm (a struggling)
to me he looked solid 6ft0.5 , occasionally can also looks 6ft1.

To be honest, his height has always said 6'1" and his weight has been listed in multiple places at 160, 165, and 180. Either way he is a thin man. You can tell by looking at his wrists and ankles.

Obama is 6'1" tall, if you do not believe me, his White House medical report states his height and weight as being 6-1 and 180lbs., no more and no less, that is very light for man over 6 feet and skinny men can carry the illusion of being much taller. If he only appeared an inch shorter than William, I would guess he is wearing shoes with heels that add to his height or William is really 6-2.

Regarding the shot with Prince William posted by biggie below - the photo is clearly taken using wide angle lens setting. I'm an amateur photographer and this type of lens has a dramatic effect on size appearances when people are only even slightly different distances from camera.

Everyone in my family, including the grandparents and great uncles, is 95th percentile in height (average of 5'9" women and 6'2.5" men), but I was anorexic growing up and only ended up 6'3"; sister's a hair under 6', so imagine how tall I could have been? And we're white. I think blacks and whites generally have the same genetic potential for size.

I've seen a few sources place him at 6'3. He looks taller then Clinton who is apparently 6'2ish. I wouldn't be surprised if both guys had a couple inches added to their official height. I'm a Conservative-Republican, so I listen to conservative talk radio. Michael Medved is the host of one of the shows I listen to. He personally said that he was 6'2" and Obama barely appeared an inch shorter than him when he met him. and unfortunatly, I had the pleasure of meeting Obama at a ralley in Gary,Indiana (Where I live) because my friend was voting for him. When I shook his hand, I had to look up a little bit, because I'm only 5'9" and he was easily 6'1.5"/6'2"
