6'1 is 185,4 cm, not flat 185 cm. If he is 6'1.15 he would be 185,8 cm, and that sounds reasonable. He need an upgrade to 186 cm in my opinion

@Dan yes I agree plus he always has a good posture. He won't reach 6'1.5 mark but I would bet that he is into 6.1.25 mark at medical measurements

Yeah, this is one of the few guys who are listed at 6'1 and look it! The listing is fine! Though, i wouldn't argue he's over 6'1, MD, just look at him with Brandon Routh or Kobe Bryant... Legit 6'1 guy, that's it!

@grizz, at this point, I just ignore those folks. He's one of those rare people who evidence has proven to be honest about his height claim. Hell, if anything, we should be arguing if he's a quarter-inch taller. He's certainly not under 6'1" even still.

How tall are John Edwards and Dennis Kucinich. They're listed at 5'11 and 5'7 respectively, but Edwards looks nothing over 5'10 flat next to Obama, although I'd say there's a 3-4 inch difference between Edwards and Kucinich.

joe joe: You're right about that.. UFC seems to like to overlist(if it's them, or just take the Words of fighters promotors/agents or something. It's pretty safe to say that they don't measure them anyway) Randy, Hendo like you say are about 3" shorter than their listed heights(Randy was listed 6'2, and Hendo 6'1).. Overeem it seems is somewhere around 2-3" shorter than his listed too. And it looks like they've done the same to their newest signed "star" in CM PUNK.. On his fighter profile on the UFC website it says 6'2 when he's around 5'11 :) Silva however is pretty accurate at 6'2, I too like yourself have him at 6'1.5 Maybe 6'1 but I'm gonna say 6'1.5 for now. It seems to add up to 6'0.5 Holyfield based on their video together.

I can keep it short and just say for instance that Anderson is ~6'1.5 but why should anyone believe me or take my word for it.. That's why I'd rather show a Little bit of where I got that from and let people make their own judgement. And I do it for people like you here who just want to know the real height, no matter what it is. I'm also like I said before cool with anyone having a different estimate than me.. And I'll be the first to admit I'm wrong if someone can provide better proof.. But do that, instead of just saying I'm wrong or something negative just because you(Not talking about you personally :) have another estimate.. Show me why you think I'm wrong.. It shouldn't be that hard If you're sure about your own estimate.. I mean people must have gotten their estimate from somewhere :)
I also just asked the guy I was talking about(Junior31) who's around these fighters(hangs at Floyds house at his birthday parties etc etc and have pics to prove it) on the Floyd Mayweather Junior page here, this:

"Hey pal. Yes I believe he looks a tad under 6'1 today. When he was competing he had amazing posture. Today he looks slumped. I think at his peak he was 6'1.25 with that amazing posture. Today a half inch or so less. He really looks weathered"
So take it for what it's worth.. I'm not saying I have 100% real proof, and I don't know their prime heights.. But this is what it seems like they are today. Romney can't be much more than 6'-6'0.5 tops based on this. And I haven't really looked that much into who is taller of Romney and Obama, but it's seems to me that the people here are agreeing that Romney is a Little taller than Obama. I just Think it adds up, Silva ~6'1.5 Holyfield ~6'0.5 Romney and Obama ~6' It would also add up to the weighed in shoes bit.. He was most likely measured at 6'1 in shoes too.. And ~6' barefooted. It's just what I figure/estimate from the "proof" I've seen. Other than that my guess is as good as all of yours. And with that I think I'll leave the Obama-page here because I don't think I have much more to add. Once again I apologize for the wall of text to the rest of the readers here, but I hope it can be usefull somehow to other people here trying to get an estimate of their own :) Peace!

@mId BTW Silva is listed as 1m 87on the UFC website. we all know that is 6'1.5 but the ufc list 1m87 as 6'2 for some reason. Plus the UFC is known for boosting heights ala Alistair overeem, Randy Couture, Dan Henderson etc

Editor Rob Evander's been on 186 for a good few years, but they were similar in height in their boxing staredown. At late 60's, Mitt being in 187 range is very probable.

First off, here you have the video Click Here Notice how Holyfield has Romney by about half an inch to an inch just Before they are told to do the face off.. Notice how Romney tip toes forward to come closer in height to a relaxed holyfield.. In my still-pic that I posted in my previous post Romney is still a Little shorter(even with the extra hair). Now, If the Anderson Silva video wasn't enough to prove that Holyfield is closer to 6' today than 6'1.. Check this out. I Believe Holyfield got LISTED at 6'1 for this "fight". If he is 6'1" in shoes, why is he listed at 6'1". Shoes add about an inch. I thought this site estimated without shoes. What's the deal Rob?

We've been through this, but from the report itself (where "in shoes" is only next to his weight and not his height) and the preponderance of photographic evidence, there is no way the 6'1" is in shoes. This is a pretty decent - and fairly rare - case of where someone is at least as tall as listed/claimed.

Editor Rob Malia might be near 5ft 10, other girl close to 5ft 6.5, but I haven't looked greatly at them. I think Michelle is in the almost 5ft 11 category herself.

People, Bryant is a solid 6ft5. Just because his wife "measured" him, doesn't make it accurate. IMO, he edges out Michael Jordan who measured 6ft5.88 olympics. I don't think most adults get their barefoot height measured very often. Many people probably haven't had their height measured since their last physical in their late teens. A lot of people will assume they grew an extra inch or two since then. Also, a lot of doctors measure people with shoes on (my last three doctors all did).
So, yes, I do think most people's barefoot heights are likely 1-2 inches shorter on average than what they honestly believe their heights to be. (And by that, I mean what height they believe they are deep down, not what they publicly report.)

most people do know their barefoot heights, at least in america we get measured at the doctor's office. most people go there before work in the morning or in the afternoon. the office has closed by early evening so people will get either a morning or perhaps an early afternoon measurement barefoot. whether they are honest or not and choose to inflate the measurement they got is another story

Politician heights are certainly prone to inflation. I believe Obama is a legit 6'1" but John key (new Zealand prime minister) is listed as 5'11". If you see the pictures of him next to Obama it's clear he's about 4 inches shorter, making him a real 5'9" or so

I had a chance to meet Obama and take a photo with him. I'm exactly 5'11.5 barefoot -- he is barely taller than me and maybe had 1 inch (we were both wearing dress shoes, so I'm assuming shoe advantage was a wash)... I'd say 6'0.5 is probably more likely.

And yes this site relies largely on photo comaprisons and we base that on the assumed height of the celebrities. So the onus is on YOU to prove that michael phelps is not 6'3" and kobe is not at least 6'5" and obama is not 6'1" and linking to message boards certainly doesn't prove anything.
We do know however that dwyane wade was measured at a barefoot height of 6'3.75" and kobe certainly appears taller than 3/4" next to him.Click Here

@Greenbolt kob ehas never been officially measured at 6.4.75". The closest to evidence of that we have is an anecdote of his wife measuring him at that height. Which is likely not the most scientific of measurements. Kobe looks a strong 6'5" next to most people especially 6'3" michael phelps.

Im 6'1 and around 189 in my nike airs and i'm usually taller than most guys at work and once in a while a 6'3 or 6'4 cat turns up and I learn how others feel to get towered lol. you do know the average height for western males is 5'9/5'10. thats just a fact opinions aside. therefore commons sense would say reasonably tall is 6ft/6'1 tall would be 6'2/6'3 and very tall would be 6,4 and upwards.

@MS The fact is most people in society simply go by the heights they get at the doctor. Unlike many on this site perhaps very few people have measured themselves at multiple times of day. The average person who is measured at let's say 6.075" would likely refer to themselves as 6'1'' or near 6'1".

I'm with 5'11.5" (182) as a lower minimum, and maybe even as low as 5'11.25" (181 cm) right before bed is not impossible. That physical that lists him at 185 cm (6.075") was most likely a morning measurement standing military straight. I'm 181-182 cm for most of the day but can reach 185-186 cm range standing at my absolute best posture in the morning.
Also, he wears massive dress shoes most of the time that comfortably put him in the 187-188cm which would be the heel advantage of most legit 185 cm guys in most regular shoes.

I've seen that picture of Obama and Reinfeldt before, and it's crazy anyone thinks that they can tell anything from the angle of that photo. I've seen official, front-facing photos on the American State Department's flickr page with almost all the world leaders where they are practically the same height. The difference is negiligble.
