I wouldn’t argue below 5ft11½ as his current height. He’s never held great posture and may have some fractions hidden

I'm trying my hardest not to laugh and failing badly!

I've just come across a comment I wrote which said, "It's all ol' ?ollocks" and that, after seeing The Fast Show, I did no such thing!

Nearby to my current positioning, there is a copy of the aforementioned show, which I am intending to watch if I can drag myself away from my David Cronenberg programme.

Should I do so, I'll fill in his heights. I don't really know what Mark looks like now, but as Freddie Mercury said, "I don't like Star Wars". Well against my better judgement, I haven't been an avid watcher of the Pottery films, though I know my intelligent boyfriend is. (I'd call it escapism!)

Well, Mark, it looks as though I have found out already.

I would say you're 6ft tall.

I'll let you know when I think otherwise

Mark wasn't exactly dwarfed by Hugh Laurie in '101 Dalmations' the way the majority of Hugh's 'House' cast are.

I'd say a strong 6ft for Mark's peak and half-an-inch less for today's height.

There is an important element to mention from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 1 (2010).

At 57:27 in the movie, Harry Potter holds Arthur Weasley's personal details and 5ft 11 is Arthur Weasley's height. I don't know if 5ft 11 is Mark Williams actual height but he doesn't look taller than that.

Well, Nik, it contains one his Fast Show catch phrases, "I'll get me coat!"

My favourite sketch containing this was when there were loads of people at a board meeting. Paul Whitehouse lets this great big fart go and all heads turn to an embarrassed Mark, who then comes out with that phrase. Then Paul whispers to the guy next to him, "It was me really!" 😂😂😂

Out of interest, is this listing what you feel he looks like in this picture?

I ask because I (182.5 cm) roughly look like this with someone in the 174/175 cm range. This give a 181 cm listing from me (barely any difference to the 181.6 cm listing). Just trying to see if I'm gauging height differentials more accurately now.

This I consider a good listing. Although I would actually list him at 5'11" or 5'11.25" (just over 180 cm), because his head is angled up higher. Despite that, the picture is brilliant in showing how people who appear tall are not automatically over 6 foot nor do they need to be. If someone else is shorter, you will appear taller, that's all there is to it. It's relative. There are many, many similar examples, listed as or thought to be "6 foot" but in reality anything from 5'10" to actually being just barely 6 foot flat.

It's been a while since I properly watched the Fast Show, but really the only image that stuck height-wise was that Whitehouse was "short" (shorter than the other guys). Someone below mentioned Simon Day as having been 6'3"... is he? I don't recall him being half a HEAD taller than Williams for example...

At 65 calories a pop, and with the average man needing around 2,600 calories a day, can you imagine munching your way through 40 of the brown, crunchy sandwiches in one day? Ugh! I think I'd have quite enough after about four, so Jessie's (thoroughly unsound) reducing diet JUST MIGHT WORK!

Do you remember "Jessie's Diets" from the Fast Show? They consisted of one food and Mark Williams would come on and proudly announce, "This week I will mostly be eating Bourbon biscuits!" or something similarly daft.

It would, of course, vary from week to week. That show was the highlight of my week and that of many others; my Dad loved it too!

I've seen him. I was over visiting a couple of friends in Surrey, England. I'm Irish by the way. He lives down the road from my friend. Anyway i'm drifting off the subject. He looked 6ft2ish (187-188cm). He's quite lanky and he does slouch a bit. So I'd give this guy 6ft1.75.
