Though there is no details into this measurement, don't you think there is some truth in this measurement? For starter, at peak Sean has to be right on the 6'2 mark. Look at him next to Harrison Ford on The Last Crusade at almost 60 yrs old

I can buy 6'2.4 out of bed, but as for his real height, he always looked nothing more than a solid 6'1. (Maybe around 6'1.5 daytime).
Looks more 6'0.5 today. Lost an inch or so.

Several posters have written they consider the supposed 6'1 1/2" measurement by the Bond tailors to be dubious, and I agree them. Forget the 6'1 1/2" nonsense claimed by the Bond tailors. Connery was a tall, well-built man when younger, and even now at 81, he looks fantastic. Anything less than 6'2" for him as a young man is a joke, and he's kept his height well into advanced age. I have read, too, like others, that in his bodybuilding days he was measured barefoot at almost 6'2 1/2" barefoot, and I can buy that since he's always been noticeably taller than men who are six flat or 6'1". Even today, I think he's still close to the 6'2" mark and probably in the strong 6'1" range by the time night falls.

Watched him recently in two films: 1987's THE UNTOUCHABLES and 1964's MARNIE. This worked out well because I caught him in both the early and later stages of his career. In '64 for MARNIE, he was wearing dress shoes, and he looked to be an easy 6'3" in shoes. Likewise, by age 57 in THE UNTOUCHABLES, he still looked tall--he had an inch & change on 6'1" Kevin Costner, and both were wearing like footwear. Barefoot as a young man, Sean Connery was a strong 6'2"; I could buy as high as 6'2 1/2" for him barefoot. In fact, I think poster Shaun said something about this on Lee Van Cleef's page, and I agree with his comment: Connery's body type reminds me of Van Cleef's and I think he looks the same height on screen as did Van Cleef--who was himself a strong 6'2" man. Connery has always looked tall in his films, and although I haven't seen recent pictures of him, the most recent pictures that I have seen--circa 2007/2008--indicate that he's still close to the 6'2" mark. I think it's a safe bet that Connery is at least to this day still 6'2" at least during the morning hours. He has aged very well.

It is just my opinion that like most if not all of Bond actors he was significantly shorter than 6'1 - 6'2 which is the legendary 'Bond Standard'.

Overall judging by the pics i would say a current height of 6'1 (185cm) or 6'1.25 (186cm) looks fair. He's not 188cm these days though.

Like I said in his bond movies often looked around the height of say pierce brosnan like 6'1. In Russia with Love as well looked 1.86m.

Read carefuly what i wrote, i'm stating that normally there's a correlation between bigger hands & feet and higher height. Connery's hands are in fact massive, hard to find in big men and deviant amongst average ones. I would like to know what do you mean by pretending to have ones comparable in size, prolly a tad over average.

I noticed a few people arguing that sean doesn't look all of 6ft2 in thunderball, but that might be because through most of that film hes wearing espadrilles which are flat beach footwear which really only add about half inch to your height.

6ft 3 is a little extreme, posible 6ft 2 a bit(like .25 or .5)he one time in the day was measurument that, and in other time was measurument 6ft 1.5, probably 6ft 2.5 was his morning height, and he mantanin 6ft 2 for all the rest of the day.

Connery was infact 6'2" you can compare himt to pushing 6' Harrison Ford on "The Last Crusade". He's always taller in spite of being there at his old age. Compare how massive he is, his hands are twice as big as Ford ones, which he isnt quite small either. Those are the usual traits of a big man, though the rule it's not 100% accurate.
