At the risk of being overly generous, I’d give Buscemi a flat 5’9” peak. I felt Buscemi was at least an inch taller than Harvey Keitel in Reservoir Dogs and I recall Buscemi seemed a smidgeon taller than Don Johnson in a Miami Vice episode. In my opinion, 5’8.5” and 5’8.75” remain other logical guesses for Buscemi’s peak height.

Steve hasn't appeared yet, but when he does, he should be at his optimum height because the film is from 2001 and Steve will have been 43, turning 44 at the end of the year, so most unlikely to have lost any height. John will have been 45, so ditto to him being at his peak or very nearly there. There's also the stupendously tall Vince Vaughn, hence quite an interesting variation on the height front.

He's a really good actor and very versatile, and not many guys slim and slight as is Steve can pull off menacing as he can when a role calls for it and he can quite funny and touching too.

As is often so traditional with gangster leaders throughout history - and this series gives us a taster of the truly tiny Al Capone! - you don't have to be tall to be powerful! Steve's character is of average height and above average in the brains and charm departments, having also been the town sheriff in this some years back, the slot now filled by his younger brother; very convenient for his lucrative little alcohol-selling-and-other-naughty-goings-on business!
If you want a really good laugh, I recommend the 4th episode of Season I, called 'Anastasia'. Nucky complains bitterly about the state of the filthy glasses and his description of them had me in stitches!

There's about 10-15 pounds on most people that isn't really noticeable when they are wearing clothes, it's why with weight, seeing beach shots is probably going to give you a better idea.
As for Buscemi, he always seemed a 5ft 8 range guy who has been relatively thin most of his career. I doubt his own weight varies that much...

I'm 5'8 and I met him in 2015 he was at least an inch taller than me however my cousin works as a wardrobe designer in Hollywood and told me any actor under 5'10 wears lifts and some under 6' do the same....who knows? What I do know is that they are ALL phony in Hollywood

I don't see 173cm for Steve. He's slightly below average, yes, but around 174cm seems more justifiable in shows like Boardwalk empire and movies like Armageddon. He was maybe 175cm at his peak. So 174cm is my current guess.

Wow...that's very surprising; he really looks 5'10 or 5'11 in Boardwalk Empire. But I have learned to trust Rob on these things. Just shows you how a slim build and longish limbs can make someone look so much taller. Kind of the reverse of what happens with Matt Damon, whom I actually believe is 5'10 (or very close to it)...but he does look shorter because he's stocky. I myself lose both ways, since I'm short (5'7) and stocky (though I'm lucky to be muscular rather than fat). It's really a great pity that our society doesn't appreciate or honor that body type. I'm not sure why, since--in evolutionary terms--stocky tends to mean stronger, even if you're on the short side...for example, wouldn't you bet on 5'8 Mark Wahlberg to take a slim 5'11 guy in a fight? And yet Steve Buscemi manages to look so sleek and cool somehow in Boardwalk Empire, in those great period clothes.... At my height and build, I can never do it. I always look comically short and stumpy in a suit. And in a tuxedo, I don't look like James Bond...I look more like a penguin...or, at best, a headwaiter. I think 6'5 is the ultimate height for a man...how different my life would be if I were that tall. I'd never want for female companionship, I'll tell you that. And the people who are that tall were just given it free. And they say life's fair. What a joke. Height is 90% of a man's attractiveness. If a guy says he likes big breasts, women call him shallow. Wow...that's very surprising; he really looks 5'10 or 5'11 in Boardwalk Empire. But I have learned to trust Rob on these things. Just shows you how a slim build and longish limbs can make someone look so much taller. Kind of the reverse of what happens with Matt Damon, whom I actually believe is 5'10 (or very close to it)...but he does look shorter because he's stocky. I myself lose both ways, since I'm short (5'7) and stocky (though I'm lucky to be muscular rather than fat). It's really a great pity that our society doesn't appreciate or honor that body type. I'm not sure why, since--in evolutionary terms--stocky tends to mean stronger, even if you're on the short side...for example, wouldn't you bet on 5'8 Mark Wahlberg to take a slim 5'11 guy in a fight? And yet Steve Buscemi manages to look so sleek and cool somehow in Boardwalk Empire, in those great period clothes.... At my height and build, I can never do it. I always look comically short and stumpy in a suit. And in a tuxedo, I don't look like James Bond...I look more like a penguin...or, at best, a headwaiter. I think 6'5 is the ultimate height for a man...how different my life would be if I were that tall. I'd never want for female companionship, I'll tell you that. And the people who are that tall were just given it free. And they say life's fair. What a joke. Height is 90% of a man's attractiveness. If a guy says he likes big breasts, women call him shallow. I was at a cast reunion of The Big Lebowski and he looked as about listed. When they first stood next to each other, John Goodman was kind of slouchy and Buscemi was more upright so they looked surprisingly close in height but it was apparent Goodman was dropping a lot of height and almost twice the width of Buscemi! I suspect Goodman & Jeff Bridges have both dropped almost an inch from their peak heights, John Tuturro not as much (he and Bridges looked about the same height). T-Bone Burnett & Julianne Moore were also present and Moore was decidedly shorter than even Buscemi and Burnett was very tall, probably 6'4" range.
