Sotiris you can post all the pictures you want it's not gonna make a difference to me this isn't like the undertaker where I've never been close enough to guess his height which with big show I was close enough and he was over 7'0" in boots so I'd still say 6'11" barefoot now that was 15 years ago so he could've lost height since then but I still don't see him under 6'10"

@Rising: maybe 6’7.5 for Battier the more I see
Canson said on 19/Nov/18
@Rising: McGrady is supposedly 6’6.5. The newspaper article putting him 6’7” may just be a roundup or a morning measurement. Next to Vince Carter who is approximately 6’5” (6’5.5 is likely an earlier measurement possibly rounded up). He doesn’t look 6’7 with 6’4” Bonzi Wells. Pippen actually can look taller at times with Wells than Tmac. As for Ariza not sure if he’s a morning height or not. He honestly looks a legit 6’7” at times. Best comparison may be with MWP who’s probably around 6’5.25 at a low judging how he looks with Kobe.

As for Battier, I agree that he’s probably taller than 6’6” but to Sotiris’s credit he can look 6’6 range (not a flat 6’6”) at times too. He looks shorter than boozer or Lebron both at times. But on the other hand, Battier looks at least 6’7” other times With Lebron. i would say 6’7” most likely. I don’t believe he’s 6’8”. Boozer measured close to 6’8” but is said to be closer to 6’7” by some which he honestly looks 6’7 and change. One thing I will point out is Elton Brand’s height. He shows 6’8.25 but no chance. He is said to be 6’6”. With Mike Miller Battier looks 6’7” imho as Miller is around the same. I question Gasol’s height a bit though as he doesn’t look 7’0” imho. Probably 6’11” range. I used to think he was 7’0 but not sure now.

@Rising: I would’ve given Chandler 6’11 and Eddy Curry I’ve heard 6’9 3/4 for as well. For Stoudemire maybe 6’9” flat but really 6’8.75 today. Pippen I feel would be 6’6.75 (at least today) next to MJ 6’4.5 imho. Pippen may have been a fraction taller prime but he’s had a bunch of back issues with herniated discs going back to when he was younger with the Bulls (in the 80s)

@Jurgen

Khali was described 6'11 7/8". If the article wanted to downgrade his height, they wouldn't have chosen something so specific like 6'11 7/8". Besides, he looks shorter than Shaq who's a real 7 footer. As for Kanter, I've already said that his shoes are no thicker than Air Force One's which are no more than 1.25", while Strowman's chunky construction boots add around 4cm. Kanter doesn't even have a big afro in that pic btw. Just slightly thicker than average curly hair. That's a good 2.25" difference, and 2.5"-2.75" if you include footwear difference.

Big Show was alot taller like close to 5 inches taller out of gear (at least in 2010) than Baron Corbin who I met in early 2014.

That Show and Jericho photo is from 2009, if you watch videos Show has 14 inches on Jericho and a full head (12 inches) on Miz a short time later when they tagged

I would be surprised if Show is 6'9 range today given the height he has in Cesaro and Sheamus and had on Dean Cain a year or two again never mind a decade ago when he teamed with Jericho

@Sotiris: I agree Shaq is clearly taller with Pippen than Chandler and Shaq was also noticeably taller with Amare than Chandler was. I wouldn't guess Chandler less than his rookie 6'11.5" measurement, but maybe no more either since Pippen oddly looks just 4" shorter than Chandler even while slouching and he's measuring up quite well to supposedly 6'10.5" Eddy Curry there. Also, Pippen still looks near 1" taller than 6'6" Jalen Rose even while slouching. Good pic of Magic and Barkley. Magic looks anywhere from 4-5 cm taller, imo. I certainly don't see Griffin towering Pippen though. The photo is tilted and neither are standing straight and Pippen is closer to the camera so it's difficult to say what the difference is because the background makes it not so easy to definitively correct the tilt. I'm not sure if 'Nique was less than 6'7", though Barkley(with a possible camera advantage) looks just slightly shorter there. I have a much easier time believing Mourning's 6'9.5" measurement than 6'8" flat for him. The lowest I could buy would be 6'8.5"-6'9" range. But considering I guess Jordan just under 6'5" or about 195 cm, Pippen looks about 6'7" flat with him in 2012, imo. Battier is not 6'6", though. I don't know where you got that one. He was said to have measured a legit 6'8" and whether he's that tall or not, he was taller than Tracy McGrady and Trevor Ariza, both around 6'7".

Back to Big Show, I wouldn't be completely surprised if he stretched a bit over 6'10" for a measurement and 6'11.5" is probably the lowest I could buy peak. When did he first appear to lose height? I'm still skeptical of a full 2" height loss by his age, but I see a much better chance of Show at 7' peak than Andre.

No,that is how Jericho looked with Big show woth similar boots dont asume show has fotwear advantage

The big show has a very big head if he was 6ft11 a 5ft11 guy will reach his chin so that looks accurate

Jercho is just a bit under his head

Blake is more like 6’7.75 and Deandre Jordan 6’9.75. That’s around 2” between them
Canson said on 16/Nov/18
@Sotiris: the picture with Magic and Majerle and Terry Porter is what I’ve been proving all along. Barkley is not and has never been 6’5 let alone over it. Magic at 6’7 makes him about 6’4.5 (max) and that’s with Magic leaning a bit. Majerle also is taller than barkley as I’ve been saying all along. Barkley may just be 6’4.25 today honestly
Canson said on 16/Nov/18
@Sotiris: Barkley measured 6’4 5/8 at the Olympics. I can agree on Scottie maybe 6’6.75. Jordan 6’4.5. Chandler 6’11 jalen Rose measured 6’6”

@Christian 6'5 3/8"

Height descriptions in newspapers and magazines are meaninglessness. Arnold was described 5ft 10 at peak Click Here

Kanters shoes measured over 1 and 1/2 inches during combine so I doubt he has less footwear than Strowman, in fact Kanters heels look noticeably bigger. All in all Strowman looks solid 6ft 7 with Kanter because Kanter has afro which isn't part of his overall height.

And of course Strowman has a bigger head. He probably has taken enough HGH to kill normal humans. The guy used to pull airplanes for a living.

@Sotiris: Some interesting finds, but in quite a few of those Shaq is further from the camera. As for Lebron, I think there's enough wide shots, back to back shots etc. to get an idea of the height difference. That Magic pic is a good find as it's a wide shot and Shaq looks to be standing straighter, but Magic is closer to the camera and the background suggests it might be slightly tilted in Magic's favor, but Magic is reaching Shaq's eyes in that photo so it's still anywhere from 4.5" to 5" while Kareem is about an inch taller with Magic in that walk of fame photo. He does look under 7 feet with Jerry, but in both cases looks further from the camera to me and with the angle lower, I'd think this would exaggerate the height difference. Here's a back to back photo with Yao that appears to be taken from a good height: Click Here That Wade photo is pretty funny, though. He's measuring up better to Jerry than he often did to Shaq. He must be standing on something.

But you're right, we should probably take this more over to Shaq's page lol.

Speaking of 6'7"-6'7.5" Magic, look at how short he looks next to a leaning Shaq in a wide shot: Click Here I agree with Rob that 6'4.5" is too low for Barkley and that difference varies. Here's a leaning 40+ year old Shaq and Barkley comes up to his mouth while Rock is more than a head shorter: Click Here Barkley came up to Kareem's mouth in 2003: Click Here Here's a full shot of Shaq and Barkley in 2007: Click Here Barkley reaches his mouth there. And the very top of Barry's hat doesn't even reach Shaq's nose in that pic: Click Here It's barely above his mouth. Barry is quite easily 8" shorter without the hat. I doubt Pippen is only 6'6.5" and you can barely tell anything from that pic. Here Pippen needs a camera advantage and extra hair to even reach Shaq's eye level: Click Here Shaq still has an easy 5" or more on Pippen.

As for Khali, I think 7'0"-7'0.5" range is believable.
Annonymous said on 13/Nov/18
Khali was also given 7'1 listings in India before he was famous...and has claimed 7'2 a couple times, but he has also casually said "7 foot" as well...Could be a John cana effect where he's actually over 6' but is just saying a round number.

Whatever he actually is...that man sure looks 7'1-7'2 a lot.

@Sotiris: I do agree on Deontay Wilder. He looks shorter than Carmelo (possibly due to the angle). While it’s likely he’s not shorter, I would say that knowing what both of us know about time of day, it’s very possible that his 6’6.5 measurement is an earlier one and that he’s similar with Melo 6’6/6’6.25 instead of 6’6.5
Canson said on 13/Nov/18
@Sotiris: Thanks! I agree Bosh is probably a guy who doesn’t dip under 6’10”. Not sure if 6’10.25 is a low but maybe it is. I will say he would fall into the same category as Carmelo as I highly doubt he falls under and doubt either of them fall under the marks. As for Lebron, I would say he looks as if he falls under the mark when standing with Bosh or Melo but he’s still likely closer to 6’7” than 6’6”. I would estimate him as 6’6.5 absolute minimum but 6’6.75 probably.

@Christian A height of 6'6.25" for Strowaman is A-OK by me.

@Canson If Tyson Chandler is really 6'11" (I think he might be 6'11.25"), then consider the pic of him w/ Dirk Nowitzki (who I see as 6'10")... Click Here

More importantly, a 6'10" Dirk puts this BIG pic of Big Show at around 6'9" (IMHO): Click Here (I've taken the liberty of straightening this pic with the awning in the background.)

Big show is lifting his head up akin to what we always saw w/ King Kong Bundy (making him look taller). Add to that the fact that Dirk is leaning in, like the pic of Mo Bamba and Kanter.

Khali was listed 6'11.5" and 6'11 7/8" in some sites and articles when he was a bodybuilder, and that was before he became a wrestler. A 7'1" person would not get 6'11.5" or 6'11 7/8" listings.

I dont care maybe he was a teen and still gorwiing a 7ft KHALI would mean a big downgrade for every wrestler he faced:Batista Cena HHH etc,and that would downgrade the guys who they faced, just 7ft makes no sense

I think it's funny that some of you people are claiming 6'9" I'm gonna swear on my life this that I saw big show up close at a show in 2003 and I swear it he looked over 7'0" 7'1" I'd say but of course he had boots on so I'd say take off 2 inches so 6'11" is fair I really feel he didn't lose any height he just hardly ever stands straight so people assume he did you people can argue with me all you want but I know what I saw
Rising - 174 cm said on 13/Nov/18
@Canson: Possible because he does look slightly shorter than Melo in the pic, but I thought if a guy looked a solid 6'6" and was claiming 6'6.5" it was pretty believable. But even a 6'6" flat Wilder makes Shaq look at least 7'0" since the difference has to be more like 7" to reach just his nose on a man Shaq's size and then you deduct about a half inch for footwear advantage.

@Sotiris: 7'0" peak is fair for Shaq. That's what some reports said he measured, though the article Rob quotes said a little over, which looks right to me. Here's Shaq with a man closer to 6'5" than 6'4": Click Here If Kobe is 6'6" in shoes then Shaq is looking 7'2" in shoes there back to back in street clothes. I'm not saying he's 7'1" barefoot, but he looks a strong enough 7'0" to me and can look 7'1" a lot even in street clothes. I'm not convinced of height loss, though. In the wider shot with Tebow, Shaq is almost a full head taller: Click Here That still puts Shaq a pretty easy 7'0". Same thing with 5'11.5" Jimmy Fallon: Click Here I actually buy Fallon's listing because I've seen him with someone I know was around that height, but even if you say more 5'11" flat, you still have Shaq easily 7'0". And I believed Shaq had probably lost some height myself before seeing some of these comparisons, which credit goes to JT for posting. But Shaq looks at least 6" taller than Lebron in the pic you posted and I think I was the one who uploaded that with the line. I intentionally put the line high to eliminate all doubt and Lebron is still barely above Shaq's nose. Here's the 4 pics you just posted: Click Here Lebron usually reaches Bosh's eyebrows, sometimes a bit above and sometimes a bit below with the one exception where he reaches his eyes, but never below. You want to see someone who truly looks enormous with Lebron: Click Here As you can see, Lebron is consistently right around the bottom of Shaq's nose or just above. Note Wade was anywhere from Bosh's nose to his mouth, but look at how Shaq is consistently around a full head taller than Wade: Click Here Shaq is easily a couple of inches taller than Bosh with both Lebron and Wade. But I give you credit for changing your mind from 6'11" to 7'0" peak for Shaq and in general for posting to back up your claims and having an open mind so you're definitely not a troll.

@Erik C: I do not always agree with Sotiris’s listings.but I can say the same for almost any poster and they can say the same for me at times or even often. However that said, I do agree with some of his. And he has also provided some very good estimates that many people criticize him for. Meaning he’s guessed a few guys consistent with how they actually look and I agree with his estimates more so than many others. The “others” are the ones who are quick to call him out or get sour when someone downgrades the celebrity which is hilarious. And These same people that criticize him are wrong themselves at least on some celebrities. But truthfully, Sotiris unjustly takes a lot of heat for his guesses because he bucks the norms on this site. Most people here simply take Rob’s listings and don’t consider that they could be slightly off especially if the person has lost height or if the measurement were earlier in the day or if it’s just a claim. And if something is off, meaning another celebrity “outs” the one who is possibly overlisted. They revert to inflating the one who is properly listed. And While Rob is truly amazing at what he does, he is human just like you or I. But Through all of it, Sotiris is a stand up guy and someone that I respect a lot and will always defend because it’s just not right how he’s treated here. Not to mention he is respectful toward others. And to me, It’s hilarious when other posters inflate every celebrity they comment on, sometimes egregiously and deliberately as fanboys yet their comments roll through uncontested and they don’t get the type of criticism he gets when his guesses are no worse than theirs.

I mean look at these pics of shaq and kobe. Prime Kobe who might be 6'6 in bball sneakers doesnt even make it to prime shaq's EYES. I seriously doubt in any of thw pics ive published there would've been a significant shaq footwear advantage that wouldve been the deciding/determining factor. Also take into account that Kobe is closer to the camera on both pics meaning if shaq was closer he'd be even taller. = shaq is a hella legit 7 footer. Even now.
Erik C. said on 11/Nov/18
@Sotiris Gravas

Alot of things you've posted and pointed out seem at least to me to be arguable, good points. And unlike some ppl, i dont really believe you're trolling whatsoever. However, that being said, i totally disagree and think its crazy to put Shaq sub-7 footer. You didnt even really elaborate to whether you think shaq is only sub-7foot now or whether referring to PRIME. Like he was never 7 foot. That's crazy. If shaq was never 7 foot sooooo many ppl listed have to be downgraded and get some of their height removed. Firstly, sane thing goes with khali being 6'10 or however low you pegged him. If khali was 6'10, shaq might not even be SIX TEN! Bc in that pc they look pretty much totally level and the same or khali might edge him out by the slighest bit or shaq might but even if shaq edged him out he still wouldn't be 1.5 inches taller at the 6'11.5 you're putting him at. And even if it was that thats way too low for him. Especially prime. Than you have to TREMENDOUSLY down grade Big show. And also super legit 7'3 Bol Bol and his son shareef. Link - Click Here link- Click Here
If you look at these pics The camera angle seems fine on both of them and excluding bol bol's extra hair in the pic and accounting that shaq is NOT in his prime and he's slouching AND shareef has extra hair, there's BARELY a difference between them. If shaq was 6'11.5 or even 7'0, then bol bol needs a huge downgrade and is like 7'0-7'0.5 range. Now, i think shareef might've been a little younger in the pic with shaq so he might've grown a tad bit. But it would only be a tad bit at best and shareefs been listed the same for a long time now. And thats assuming that the pics are from separate times and shareef grew. And even then with the advantages stacked against shaq he still comes out on top. Let alone in his prime. Then shareef needs a huge downgrade, 7'3 bol bol needs a huge downgrade. And Kobe bryant would need a HUGEE downgrade. In conclusion, shaq really cant be less then 7'0 and khali either has to be the same, the slightest bit more or less, so hes def not 6'10, let alon prime bc wrestling really punishes a persons back. And shaq very well couldve been 7'1 ft peak.

Sotiris Gravas, it's not hyperbolic. You seem to intentionally pick the photos with the worst angles or where someone is further from camera and looks smaller to prove a point.

The Shaq and Wilder photo is a good example because the full length photo shows the true height difference between the two Click Here that's a 7-8 inch height difference so if Wilder is 6ft 6 like you claim then Shaq is clearly over 7 foot which is what he was measured at.

Barry has at least 3 inches on DDP so how can both be 6ft 4?

DDP only came to Big Show's mouth at peak Click Here

How is Strowman closer to the camera with Kanter? And their footwear heelsize is similar. Strowman at 6ft 6 is your opinion. People estimating him that low are still just estimates not reality.

There is no way Undertaker is as low as 6ft 5. That's crazy talk.

Can you post a link to the actual 6ft 8 listing for Babatunde, NFL official site has him at 6ft 9
Click Here that photo you linked looks fan made
Canson said on 11/Nov/18
@Sotiris: I think Mo Bamba may even be 6’10.5-6’11”. A 6’11.25 combine could mean that he was 6’11-6’11.25 range and lost half inch from there. Very possible he comes down to 6’10.5. As for Kanter, I would go strong 6’9” if anything. I doubt a flat 6’9”
Canson said on 11/Nov/18
@Sotiris: I agree on Rodman and Phil (similar) but Jackson may be around 199 like Christian said. I don’t know about 198. Maybe too low. As for Malone, Maybe he falls in the weak 6’8 range tho 6’7.5-6’8”. But you may actually be right about him to be honest.

I've never had Khali at legit 7'1" either. Even 7'0" is too high for him, but on the other hand 6'10" is too low. Maybe 6'11.5" range.

@Sotiris

This pic is bad because Khali's head is cut so we can't tell exactly how much the difference is. Click Here Here's a better pic Click Here it looks around an 8" difference. I have Jinder at 6'3.5" and Khali at 6'11.5"
Sotiris Gravas said on 10/Nov/18

I think we should give Barkley near 6ft 5, the 4.5 just seems too low. On a bad day maybe he measured that.

I thought Shaq might have shrunk, but he's still easily 7'0" minimum. Here's the full pic with Wilder pic: Click Here Wilder is about 6'6.5", but even if he were 6'6" flat, Shaq still wouldn't be under 7'0" because he's around the bottom of Shaq's nose and standing slightly in front of Shaq, though has about 1 cm footwear, but he's not at all looking less than 6" taller even subtracting that. And speaking of Shaq and 6'2" guys, just imagine how short Lesnar would be without the cowboy boots or hat: Click Here

Sotiris is right Dalip Singh was never a true legit 7’1”...Sotiris, donyou recall his Pro Body Building Days in India? He turned pro in India. And at the time was known as the tallest body builder ever. It was the early to mid 1990’s. He was listed at 6’11-7/8” during his body building days. He also had a few 6’11-1/2” listings. Muscle Mag international had a great article on him in the mid 1990’s...they listed him @ 6’11-7/8”...Another publication by Weider had him listed @ 6’11-1/2”. And I think he truly lost noticeable height by 2010. Young peak Shaq had a few different barefoot measurements of him taken & listed. Most where all between 7’0-1/2” to 7’1”. Which I totally buy! I Also buy the current older, fatter 350-370 lbs Shaq only now being 6’11-1/2”.

They don't realize that a guy is actually standing in FRONT of someone, and that if the person in back were to actually step forward, he would then look even taller.

Shaq is around 6'11.5" barefoot, that's all... making Khali 100% no more than 6'10" in that pic. The fact that you think Shaq looks SHORTER than him scares me, dude.

Next to Kevin Durant & Dwight Powell he's easily over 7ft tall. He looks about 2 inches taller than The Great Khali. Khali was probably 7ft in his prime, but nowadays lost a bit of height. He seems to be suffering from the same disease as the famous giant Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca), who was over 7ft tall in his prime, but nowadays stands around 6'10" (if he can even stand at all these days) due to his x-shaped legs.

Seeing Satnam next to Kevin Durant, Dwight Powell, Great Khali & Sim Bhullar, my guess is Satnam is ~7'1".

Olivier Richters looks about an inch taller than Satnam Singh, so his 7'2" claim might actually be close to the truth. He was always very adamant in claiming he was 7'2", yet it's those pics with Big Show that always made me doubt his claim.

@Sotiris. The doorway Silo Sam is standing in looks very similar to the door ways in my house as far as the trim goes. If its your standard American 6'8" door like mine, then in shoes he looks around 7'0" or 7'1". At least that's what my tape measure says when using my door frame based off of that picture. The comparison pics with Andre and the ring ropes don't seem super consistent, but it looked like Silo and Andre could have been similar in height. Of course in the end its a picture. If taken from a different angle and camera distance Silo may look comparatively taller or shorter.

Can you provide evidence that Ladd was measured over 6'9!

Being listed at a certain height in a competitive sport does not mean you were measured that height. Morgan was listed 6'10 as a Division 1 center in college basketball Click Here

A celebs word especially a wrestlers word means very little in grand scheme of things because this industry has always been carny with the objective of working the marks (fans) to hand over their hard-earned money to watch a pre-determined 'fight'.

Re: peak height, Ladd himself wouldn't have been peak height when he wrestled Andre in the late 70s given he was around 40 and had spent probably 15 years playing football in school, college and pro prior to that.

What's funny about so many posters on this site is that we are to believe what they say about people's height but not what the actual people say about their own height.for example one might say they are 6 foot 5 and we need to believe it but if the celebrity says they're 6 5 and they're a liar. Ernie Ladd doesn't say he is a shade under 6 10 he says 6 9. Furthermore why would the article say a shade under 6 10 why wouldn't they just say 6 10 if they were going to be exaggerating his height anyway.
_____________

So we take everyone at face value then?

Dwayne Johnson claims 6'5 regularly..do you believe he is that tall?

HHH claims 6'4, do you believe he is that tall?

Rey Mysterio claims 5'4, do you believe he is that tall?

Matt Morgan claims 6'11-7 foot..do you believe he is that tall?

As for Ladd I saw him on stage at 2004 WWE HOF in March 2004. He was noticeably shorter than Kane (both in dress shoes). He wasn't someone whose height I had really done any research on before that so I expected him to be legit 6'9. Kane we had met in person previous day in the Hilton and he didn't look taller than 6'7 out of gear. Could Ladd have lost 3+ inches by that point..maybe.

This site is here for people to debate heights and compare research from videos, photos, meetings etc. The only thing we know for sure is if someone is actually measured and that measurement made public..and even then actual measurements are debated vigorously on here.

Not the best quality but here’s Ladd with ~ 5’11” Bobby Heenan Click Here and ~6’3” King Kong Bundy Click Here Ladd in dress shoes looks pretty tall with ~ 5’11’ Paul Boesche Click Here but not so tall in dress shoes here Click Here or in wrestling boots Click Here

Ladd came from an all-black college so they may have listed him taller to get the attention of the NFL and AFL.

Haku may be barefoot in many WWF promos. In WCW, he wore wrestling boots and looked around 6’0” with Gene Click Here

62B, many here, including me, have looked closely at the WM 2 battle royale and there is no good point to compare Andre and Too Tall Jones. Iron Sheik was around 3 inches shorter than Nikolai Volkoff, who I saw backstage at the LA Sports Arena in 1986 and looked around 6’2”. If Sheik is sub- 5’11”, this other guy (Mr. Takahashi) is around 5’5” and Andre around 6’9” Click Here

@Sotiris 6'9 range is definitely possible for Big Show today as that photo indicates. As for Kane and Orton, that's not a great picture to judge and Orton probably has a bit of a footwear advantage as he's in wrestling boots. Kane easily has a few inches on Orton as other pictures are indicating.

Sotiris,
Peak Haku was 6’0”
Remember, most of the 1980’s he wrestled barefooted. So, any pic from that era without seeing footwear & feet, gotta give him 1” to 1.5” extra, due to lack of footwear. I think from 1986-1992 he was always barefoot in the ring & during promos.

A barefoot Big Show’s definitely taller next to Brian Blair than 6’9” Ed Too Tall Jones was back in 1986. Click Here Click Here The camera’s in front of Jones and Dan Spivey too so a disadvantage to Blair. Blair looked around Ken Patera’s and Iron Sheik’s height (~5’11”).

Too bad Jones could not have actually been in the WM 2 battle royale – would have been interesting if he and Andre had a stare down. BTW Nash was taller next to Spivey than Jones was.

_____________________________________________________

Patera was listed as 6'1" and 330lbs in the 1972 Olympics. By 1986 I see him probably around John Cena's size, a little over 6' and about 250-260lbs. Too Tall wasn't that much shorter than Andre at WrestleMania II. I watched that battle royal over and over to try and get a good idea of their height difference. If Ed Too Tall was 6'9" then I thought Andre came out in the 6'10-6'10.5" range. Which Jives with how tall I thought Andre was in 1987 when I bumped into him, which was between 6'10.5" and 6'11". I attribute the slight discrepancy to the time of day that I saw Andre vs WrestleMania being in the evening. Coincidentally I have also seen the Iron Sheik in person. I think 5'11 for him is very generous.

I’ve heard more than a few people say that he wore lifts & was actually only 5’10” & not 5’11” or 5’11-1/2” ??? But, after seeing that video with Gene & seeing everyone’s footwear...the lowest anyone could rationally go on Davey Boy is 5’10.75” !!!

Why don't you post a picture of Big Show with Strowman when Big Show just lost some weight and could stand in better posture---because you dare not. There are some good pictures easily google-able and Big Show was clearly 4 inches taller if not more. Big Show has bigger boots but Strowman stood on his toes in most of those pictures so I call it a tie in footwear.

Your trying so hard to downgrade Big Show by ignoring the evident was annoying and starts to disgust me.

Hulk Hogan : 6'4"

As for the 6'11" guy w/ Show, he is clearly standing in back of him. If you can't see that, you have difficulty w/ depth perception. Show's head is big, but not THAT big. He's closer to the camera.
----------------------
They're standing side by side there Sotiris Gravas. If Big Show is closer to the camera it's very minimal and will hardly result in any height advantage.

From the many pictures you've posted here it's pretty clear you have difficulty with depth perception. The majority of pics you post to prove a certain celebrity isn't as tall as listed, you often use pictures where said celebrity is standing further from the camera. Your latest pic of Conan Stevens, Mattias Hues, Alexander Nevsky & Ralf Moeller is a good example of that. None of those people standing at equal distance from the camera. So why even use it?

If Conan Stevens is 6'9", than Nathan Jones is at least 6'8.5". If you see 2 inches between them then further debating height with you is useless.

Sotiris, I did say Bloom was someone you shouldn't use for comparison purposes then you proceed to compare him to everyone..

Like I stated Bloom was pretty much same height as Taker (in his 30s). Assuming Taker was 6'8 range in his boots that puts Albert similar height in his wrestling footwear 2 mins 15 seconds Click Here

Here he completely dwarfs Lesnar who himself was probably 6'3 in his sneakers Click Here

So clearly something is up or Bloom was close to 6'8 in his wrestling gear and not a reliable person to compare with.

Sapp was measured 6'4.25 barefoot at NFL combine. He had 3 inches easy on Lashley who Rob met. Akebono had quite a bit of height on Sapp when they fought in 2003 if you watch back that fight so 6'6 seems too short for him at peak.

Morgan was definitely taller than 6'6 peak. NCAA are not going to overlist him by 4 inches. 6'6 Morgan would equal 6'2 range Gallows and Gallows is taller than 6'2. Morgan also wasn't 2 inches shorter than Nash 10-12 years ago, not sure where you see 2 inches in Roels photo. Both Morgan and Nash were listed 6'10 by the NCAA at division 1 level, obviously almost two decades apart. Here are a few others Click Here Click Here

That's a photo I took just over a decade ago at a tv taping in Orlando, Nash in wrestling boots, Morgan in shoes Click Here

As for Jones he was listed 6'10 in strongman in the mid 1990s and 6'9 in mma. He was noticeably taller than Magnus Samuelsson in 1995.

Ali Baba met Taker in 2014, Undertaker appeared on Fallon in 2015. If he had dropped to 6'5 by 2015 he lost 1.5 inches in a year..yeah not buying that.

As for Sheamus. I used to know one of the top wrestlers in Irish Whip wrestling when Sheamus worked there. He told me Johnny Ace (then head of recruitment for WWE) sent his people to Dublin to sign talent and the minimum requirements were 6'2 barefoot and 220lb. Only 3 guys at the time met those requirements (Sheamus, Drew McIntyre and Wade Barrett) and WWE signed them all to deals while ignoring everyone else.

Sotiris,
Here’s my hypothesis on the 6’8” gentleman in the military. Quinton Dial was actually 6’5-3/8” barefoot (basically 6’5-1/2) ...and show is leaning a bit, slightly slumped down & losing an inch vs his Perfect posture with the 6’8” fella. That being said, I’d bet money the 6’8” fella, is only 6’8” in footwear. Making him 6’6-3/4” to 6’7” barefoot, if 6’8” in sneakers. If he’s 6’8” in his military issued boots? Then he’s only 6’6-3/8” barefoot. You get measured barefoot in the military on your entrance physical. However, No gaurantee you’ll claim that height though during idle chit chat. So, IMO..military gentleman is 6’6-1/2” barefoot & only 6’8” in footwear. And Paul was losing one inch in posture & stance with Quintin.
Vegas' said on 3/Sep/18
Photo with Dial isn't straight and Show is clearly standing with relaxed posture Click Here

Sotiris, I think you underestimate Wights headsize re: the chap claiming 6'11. Here he is standing behind Kane who has a bigger than average head himself Click Here

I wouldn't personally be using Matt Bloom to compare to anyone because something is off with him. On Smackdown tv in staredowns he looked pretty much identical height to Undertaker in 2000 and 5+ inches taller than Brock Lesnar in 2003. I met Bloom during Wrestlemania 20 weekend in 2004 on the street in midtown Manhattan and he looked 6'5 (6'6 in footwear). He just edged out my 6'4 (6'5 in shoes) friend who shook his hand etc. I kinda dismissed this meeting for a few years for a few reasons (pavement might not have been straight, it was getting dark, big crowd around him) but I saw him again out of gear in a hotel lobby in 2013 and he looked similar height to 2004 even though I was behind a velvet rope.

Undertaker the couple of times I met him he looked noticeably taller than Bloom out of gear. The last time I stood close to him was in 2009. Ali Baba estimated 6'6.5 for Taker in 2014. Is it possible after 30 years of pro wrestling he lost nothing? It is I suppose but the damage he had to have done to his knees alone must be considerable. No give in those rings and remember that's only the televised ones, WWE works couple hundred untelevised shows a year Click Here

Christian, Sheamus looked about 6'4 in footwear. His footwear was not normal though so I wouldn't be happy giving him an approximate barefoot estimate. He was wearing similar boot-type footwear to what he had on with Conan O'Brien (night he kicked the head off the mannequin) for reference.

As for Gallows and Morgan, thanks for posting that. I initially wanted to say 6'4" for Gallows, but didn't wanna look like I was trying to lowball him. Maybe he is 6'4" and Morgan is really 6'7", but I still think 6'6". The reason I estimated 6'6" for Morgan is b/c Heidenreich is only 6'6" and Nathan Jones, I assume is 1" taller than him. Perhaps it's a 2" difference... I guess more rigorous due diligence is required on my part. A-Train is only 6'5" and Jones only looked to have 2 inches on him. Jones only looked a little taller than Taker-- who in turn was never taller than 6'6.5" Sid Eudy, IMHO.
----------------------

So you're estimating Matt Morgan's height, based on how two other guys matched up in a pic. Yeah that makes sense!

If Morgan is 6'6" than I guess Nash is no more than 6'7" at best.

Vegas' Dude, the 6'11" guy was not standing side-by-side. Big Show is closer to the camera, which is why his head looks double the size...

I heard that sometimes football players are actually measured in their shoes. Don't know if that's true or not. Sometimes a guy like 6'4.5" Bill Fralic gets rounded up to 6'5" and maybe a guy like Lex Luger was really 6'2.5" and was listed at 6'3"...

I can see how 6ft 11.5 is arguable for a peak

Shaq is easily a legit 7 footer even now. The latest photo with 6'6.5" Deontay Wilder shows this: Click Here That's far more than a 5" difference even considering Shaq has an extra cm or so footwear. Check out the '05 all-star team: Click Here Shaq is closer in height to 7'3" listed Zydrunas Ilgauskas than 6'11" listed Jermaine O'Neal and he's even standing a bit behind. I'm not saying either are their listed heights, but Jermaine's forehead alone gets him pretty close to 6'11" or comfortably 6'10" range as you can see next to roughly 6'7" Lebron and Ilgauskas would at least hit 7'3" in shoes. 6'11" sounds about right for Dirk. He looks roughly that with Pau Gasol who is also a legit 7 footer. Shaq, Khali and Pau could all be around 7'0.5" or 7'0.25". Marc Gasol looks shorter than Pau to me and maybe 6'11.5".

@JT, posting any shots of Show in the ring are completely pointless because we know he wears big heels and lifts when in the ring.
It's not coincidence that the only shots of him looking 6,11"+ are of him in ring gear.
Outside the ring vs Shaq, vs Lebron, vs Nadal, he looks in the 6,9" range.
Please no more in ring pics. Use your common sense and your eyes.
------------------------

Than why don't you comment on the pic of Big Show & Joe Manganiello that JT posted a few days ago. Is he looking 6'9" there aswell.

But I agree, please let us not post full body shots taken at a level camera angle, where we can see posture, footwear, ground level and whether or not people are standing at equal distance from the camera. Let us only use pictures taken from a shoulder mounted camera where we don't see anything from the shoulders down. Those pics are much better use to determine heights.
Sotiris Gravas said on 28/Aug/18
@A Man 100% agree.
Vegas' said on 28/Aug/18
Sotiris, shoulder height means nothing. We measure at top of the head. Show is an acromegalic so has a much bigger head than a non-acromegalic. There are a million videos of the guy in-ring so why try and guess how tall someone is based on depth perception?

The photo with the fan who claimed 6'11, they are clearly side by side as it's a store signing. And those lines weren't added in as we found a photo of that chap in front of a height chart and then standing with a guy he claimed was 7'2.

Heidenreich I met about 10 years ago and looked close to 6'6 yes but definitely shorter in person than peak Matt Morgan. Morgan was listed 6'10 and played center at a division 1 school in the 1990s so again we are back to the NCAA over listing someone by 4 inches.. Click Here I see over on Morgan's page you estimated Gallows at 6'4.5 (met him too), unfortunately 6'6 Morgan and 6'4.5 Gallows isn't going to work given Morgan's got quite a bit more than an 1.5 inches on Gallows standing fulling straight at 13 minutes 32 seconds Click Here

Jones was noticeably taller than Undertaker in 2002 so 6'7 would be too short.

Bret I last met in late 2011 and he looked solid 5'11 then. Still looks 5'11 here with Tatanka in late 2016 (Rob has a recent photo with Tatanka) Click Here

@JT Ppl who admire their body post thousands of selfies on Instagram. I'm not on Instagram. In the past 7 years or so that I've been on Twitter, I've probably posted a grand total of maybe 5 pics of myself. I highly doubt that paints me as a classic narcissist. How exactly is posting a pic w/ a "Kick me" sign on my back a representation of a guy that's full of himself? I have a guy like Joey700--whose brain is probably Photoshopped--calling me out, along w/ yourself, as a liar of sorts. The only reason I posted selfies was to substantiate myself against the antagonism that was heaped upon me. If you continue to find fault w/ that, so be it. I'm here to have fun guessing ppl's heights, not to get into verbal jousts w/ ppl who cast aspersions on me.

I have the same photo of Show and Shaq on my laptop. Show is clearly wearing his big soles. When the world saw Show next to Shaq in dress shoes, he was exposed. Show is maybe 6'9" max barefoot now, IMHO... whereas I can't see Shaq being more than 6'11.5". If you disagree w/ that, you're free to do so. I won't hold it against you.

@Sotiris: personally you are entitled to your opinion. You don’t need to take a break from anything if that’s what you believe. If you’re going to get attacked over your estimates, then it’s only fair that those who upgrade every single person they comment on get the same treatment, yet that almost never happens. You don’t see much being said to those who inflate other people

@Vegas' No offense, but you have trouble w/ depth perception.. Laue's shoulders are way higher than Show's, and that includes eye level. Big Show is closer to the camera; if Laue stood at the exact spot of Big Show, his eyeline would be 100% higher. The fact that you can't see this is very perplexing.

Look at this pic... Click Here

Based on your logic, 6'4.75" Michael Carter-Williams' eyeline is very close to that of Big Show... but, of course, this is only an optical illusion. Also, look at Kevin Laue WAY in the back. He's clearly taller than Big Show. The fact that you can't see or understand this leaves me dumbfounded.

Look at how close Show is to the camera... Click Here Do you actually think their eyeline is the same...? Of course not. It's an optical illusion. If Laue came way closer to the camera, his higher eyeline would be 100% apparent. The fact that you can't understand this scares me. I'm quite shocked that you don't grasp this.

Here's Big Show next to a 6'11" dude with height lines drawn in showing they're the same height:
Click Here LOL. This is laugh-out-loud nonsense. Big Show is closer to the camera, which is why his head is so massive. If the other guy stood in the exact same spot, he'd be WAY taller. It's an optical illusion.

Another thing that makes me laugh is when ppl use the size of concrete blocks to measure someone, not realizing that if someone is 3 feet in front of a wall, he'll look taller:
Click Here The fact that ppl don't comprehend this blows my mind.

Here's 6'10" Dirk again (not even standing straight) w/ Show... Click Here If your depth perception--or lack thereof--prohibits you from seeing that the man in the back, namely Dirk, is taller, then I'm left genuinely terrified.

Looking at the recent Billy Gunn, DDP and Alex Rodriguez photos (and Kane ones) he doesn't look to have lost 2 inches. 2 inches is alot for a 46 year old that looks to be in great shape right now compared to 12 years ago when he was morbidly obese. It's an observation though because I haven't met him in nearly a decade.

Sotiris, in that comparison Show comes out taller than Laue. Shows eyeline is higher and I doubt Laue has a bigger forward than an acromegalic Click Here

Here's 6'8" MAX Kevin Nash... Click Here (peak height maybe 6'9"... always taller than 6'8" peak height Tyler Mane... currently 6'7") next to Big Show. Funny how Nash looks taller here... Click Here

One more thing, if Show was, say, lying down on a couch for a good long while prior to his encounter w/ Swagger, as opposed to Swagger standing around all day... that makes a difference... @Canson: I'm not arguing Duncan was measured 6'11" evening or even midday. If you say he's a solid 6'10" -- and that seems about right to me -- then he should be able to measure 6'11" in the morning. Of course, heights can be misreported as we know from Shawne Merriman getting reported such varying figures, but quite a few sources reported the 6'11" so I think it sounds like he got one of the early measurements. Aren't the measurements the first thing they do at the combine? Duncan looks similar to Aldridge, though played bigger. As for Wade, well he was supposedly measured in shoes 6'4.75". At least, that's what the NBA claimed. As I said, his height varies with Kobe, though. He oddly looked no more than 1" shorter in '07 all-star portraits: Click Here Click Here 2nd photo is primarily useful for showing shoes as the angle is low, but they don't look near 2" apart there. I think the Jordan photo is more significant since we agree Jordan is a tiny bit shorter than Kobe, but they're back to back and MJ looks near 2" taller or 1.5" absolute minimum. If Wade was the high end of your estimate then a 6'3.75" morning measurement wouldn't be completely out of the question. He likely shrinks 3/4" at the very least, but some also shrink 1"-1.25".

@JT let me just say that I love the pics you've posted online. I want to repost your great pics of Big John Studd next to 6'6" Fred Dryer. I don't know where you find this stuff...

Sorry, you're right, I do keep changing my mind when I see better evidence... I thought Bill Anderson was 6'2" based on Google, but it was an old post by you where you suggested Anderson was only 5'11 (w/ photographic evidence)that made me see the error of my ways. Same goes for Victor Rivera. You pointed out that it wasn't Rocky Johnson. The only reason I thought it was Johnson is b/c of Rob posting the photo. I confess I was very cocky when I first came on here. Lesson learned.

I see now that Andre was never 6'8" peak height, I see 100% 6'10" now, possibly 6'11" if standing full military posture. I admit I was ignorant on the matter. According to 6'6" Chet Coppock's email (that you supplied online), Coppock believed Andre was only 3" taller than him, putting him at 6'9", same height 6'5" Chuck Wepner gave. When Andre doesn't stand perfectly straight, that is the height he gives off.

I said Hogan was 6'3" peak, but I see now that he could have been 6'4", maybe even 6'4.5". I'm confused by him looking the same height as Fred Ottman, who Google puts at 6'3".

Sorry, if I put up stuff that you guys have already seen, this site is very new to me. I only learned about "morning height" from CelebHeights. When I said my morning height was 6'6.75, it was me trying to sound all fancy and knowledgeable, "knowing for 100%" that my daytime height was assuredly 6'6', just like the end of high school. Only thing is, I had grown taller since then. I only recently realized that the doors of my home I would visually compare myself to are 6'9", not the standard 6'8". As for my tweet, here's another one I posted shortly thereafter, once the scales had fallen from my eyes... Click Here
Also, I am 100% OK w/ ppl being taller than myself; it makes me feel less of an odd man out.

If I get heights wrong, know that it's not b/c I'm a "troll," I'm just learning here... same as everyone. I admit I've posted a lot and very frequently, but it was only b/c it was fun and wanted to get what I thought out there to see if ppl agreed. When I'd post stuff on Twitter there would be zero reaction. For what it's worth, I pretty much got what I wanted to say off my chest and won't really be posting all that much in the foreseeable future, but I will be following along.

P.S. If Kevin Laue is 6'11" not 6'10", it still means that Big Show is significantly shorter based off of those pics. I don't see how Show can be 6'10.5" like Rob lists him. My 2 cents. I recently posted pics of Lebron next to 6'10.25" Chris Bosh that pretty much shows 6'7.25" is a morning measurement for LeBron, and that his daytime height is more 6'6". Based on that, the pics of him and Big Show puts Show at around 6'9", tops. Hey, I could be wrong, right? :)

P.P.S. I highly doubt Trace Adkins is still 6'6". This is him w/ Blake Shelton listed as 6'4":

@Rising; I can’t believe Duncan at 6’11” in bare stockings. But a solid 6’10 I believe. Maybe misprint. That’s way too high with Nowitzki or Lamarcus Aldridge. I was gonna mention Dwayne Wade at 6’3.75 seems awfully high. He likely was measured in shoes imho as he looks 6’2.5-6’3” especially with Kobe or Wilton Speight or Barkley and ditto for MJ. As for Show, I agree. 6’11” peak 6’10” today

I always love when Big Show takes a pic closer to the camera making EVERYBODY think he's bigger than he actually is... like this... Click Here
Or this... Click Here

The thing is, when you see this, that's when you realize Big Show is now 6'8.5" next to 6'5" Kane and 5'11" (MAX) The Miz... Click Here Big Show is still closer to the camera, but you get a better sense of his real height. Look how high The Miz's head is relative to the Show's chin.

Here's Miz next to Kane... Click Here Kane isn't 6'6" anymore.

One more thing... Here's 6'10.25" DAYTIME height Chris Bosh next to 6'7.25" MORNING height LeBron James... Look how small LeBron looks by comparison:

Even when closer to the camera, LeBron looks all of 6'6" barefoot next to 6'10.25" Bosh.

Keep that in mind when comparing him to Big Show... Click Here

Let's be honest, Rob should have downgraded Show the second we saw this pic:

There's simply no way this man can now be 6'10.5". That said, I was wrong about his peak height being 6'9"... it was probably around 6'11"... same as Andre. Here he is with 6'2" Bill Anderson back in the day... Click Here
Here's 6'2" Anderson w/ 6'1" O.J. Simpson... Click Here

@Rob At least list Show at 6'9" now... EVERYBODY loves to talk about how wrestlers lose SO MANY inches of height... Why not Big Show...? Given the weight he's been carrying all these years, he's MORE likely to have lost height. My 2 cents, guys.

P.S. Knowing now for certain that Maurice Tillet's head was around 11.5" long (not 13.5" like that fake death mask), I highly doubt that Big Show's head is more than 11". Even if Andre's was 12", it doesn't 100% add extra height... It just means Andre's big jaw hangs lower, making him look like he has no neck.

@Canson: I didn't say there was a significant difference, I said Shaq is only a bit taller, but either way, he's definitely no shorter. Big Show's shoes might have a bigger heel than Shaq, but I'd agree the difference looks about 1.5" overall in that '09 video since it can look more and less than that. The article specifically says Duncan was measured barefoot so it can't be shoes, but some of those measurements are quite early so that could be one. The difference between Wade and Kobe varies too much, but Wade doesn't look as tall as 6'3.75" with Jordan.

Mourning certainly looked taller than 6'8" with Bill Russell in 2000: Click Here It's fair to give Russell about 6'9" at 66 considering he still looked close to it a decade later. Battier looked 1-2 cm taller than T-Mac and Trevor Ariza: Click Here I believe Ariza was 6'7" w/o shoes and T-Mac looks pretty much identical or if he's shorter it's by a very small amount. Mike Miller also just edged T-Mac and Grant Hill was a tiny bit taller than both.

@viper: I thought Big Show was more 6'11" range peak, but I have to agree after seeing those basketball photos again.

I saw other pics of that even with Big Show & Trace Adkins...Trace was indeed in cowboy boots. Big Show dress shoes. So, Trace had close to a 0.75” footwear advantage. Also, try to ignore the cowboy hat...that gives the illusion of Trace standing 2” taller. Also...Trace’s eyes come up to Big Show’s mustache/upper lip. With the size of Big Show’s Head/face...that’s a 3.75” difference in height. Factor in the footwear advantage & Big Show is 4.5” taller than Trace. A 6’6” Trace gives you a 6’10.5” Big Show...if Trace was down to 6’5.5” then, Big Show is Bang on 6’10” there. Also, on level Flooring & equal footwear, Trace was 2.25” taller than Blake.

The photo I posted of Big Show and Adkins you could see feet, ground and stance and Show isn't closer to camera given location of feet. In yours Adkins head is bigger than an acromegalic so he is clearly closer to camera. As regards his height he looked 6'5 range with Dennis Rodman and Penn Jillette (who I met in person more than a decade ago and he looked 6'6). Adkins is older now and admits to have lost height recently. This video is from 2011 so Adkins was still in his 40s, he is wearing cowboy boots as we can see when he goes through table but when Show stands fully straight the top of Adkins head still doesn't reach Shows eyeline (and we suspect 5 inches between shows eyeline and top of his head) Click Here JT's screenshots Click Here

Just too many variables in that shot of Show and Schwartz. We don't know footwear, we can't see ground so Schwartz could be goofing around on tip-toes. Been a few years but I seem to remember Show being noticeably taller on that episode of Star Trek. Schwartz doesn't have long legs either. He has a big head for a normal guy without gigantism but with 5'8 Mamun who posted here a few years ago and seemed to have met every celeb on the planet :) Schwartz looked similar height to Kane and Sid Eudy in street clothes and we know Show still has inches on Kane in 2018.

Show has a higher eyeline than Laue in your photo suggesting he is taller.. don't let the big mop of hair fool you. Laue has buzzcut with Kareem and looks younger? Kareem in 2012 with Howard, still give Kareem 7'1 minimum up until recently Click Here

Mychal Thompson still looks 6'8 range with his son. Looks taller here in fact Click Here

@Rising: Shaq and Robinson looked similar to me.

@Viper: 6’11” is too much for Duncan although I’d draw the line at 6’10”. 6’11 is likely a shoe height just like they say Dwyane Wade was 6’3.75 barefoot. He is not and that’s clear with Wilton Speight or Kobe or Barkley

I'm with Sotiris, way too much evidence about to suggest Show is in the 6,9" range and maybe even lower.

The only times he looks over that are (surprise surprise) when he's in his ring boots.
------------------------

Your last line isn't really true though. I mean we have photos of Show clearly the tallest member of two different college basketball teams in the 1990s where he wasn't wearing wrestling boots Click Here Click Here The latter photo we have listed heights for the players such as #34 6'8, #15 6'7, #23 6'7. If Big Show peaked at 6'9 or below then the best guesstimate for next tallest players on the Southern Illinois team (based on there being roughly 5 inches between Shows eyeline and top of his head) is #44 6'4.5, #33 6'2 and the next tallest for Wichita (a division 1 school remember) would be #32 6'4 with #15 and #23 being 6'3 range.

As mentioned before where I come from (Republic of Ireland) basketball is an ultra niche sport as gaelic football, hurling, rugby union and soccer are the four dominant team sports in order played in college. But even here there was a guy at least 6'7 who played basketball in my college. The only reason I ever even saw him was because he was dating a girl in my class. Upon leaving one evening I saw the same chap standing with a guy taller than him so we had a ~6'7 and a ~6'8 player on our college team but the second tallest player for Wichita State in 1991-92 was 6'4..no wonder they didn't reach final 4 that year :)

If you think Show peaked at 6'9 or under then you can't have Akebono at higher than 6'5-6'6 peak given the height difference between the two barefoot in 2005.

Show isn't in wrestling boots with Shaq in 2009 and looks more than 6'9 there Click Here Shaq standing with Kevin Garnett on video and I don't think anyone on here estimates KG below 6'11 Click Here

He isn't in wrestling boots with David Arquette who Rob has listed at 5'9 Click Here or Trace Adkins who Rob lists at 6'5 Click Here

Battier af 6’6” seems too small. He was supposedly measured over 6’8” barefoot. Even if that’s a discrepancy and maybe a shoe height even early AM, he would be around 6’6.5-6’7 at a low. He doesn’t look any smaller than Lebron or TMac
Sotiris Gravas said on 16/Aug/18
@Canson I definitely had a footwear advantage in the pic w/ my bro. My shoe had a 1.25" heel and my brother looked like he had on dress shoes, so... (0.75"). In the pic with my mom I had on 1" soles, same as the one of me next to a door, I believe my mom had bigger footwear... In the pic w/ my parents, I have the same 1.25" heel... My dad had on 1" heels... When you weigh a lot, it helps to have a comfortable shoe. (I'm going to go to the gym later today in old, worn-out sneaks--where the insides have collapsed due to my weight--that give no significant boost to my height...)
Canson said on 16/Aug/18
@Sotiris: Blake is probably close to 6’8” (I have him a little under 6’8” actually). As far as Kevin Love, he’s 6’7” barefoot. His 6’7.75 was likely a measurement after some laying down (although it was afternoon). I say that because of how he looks with Tristan Thompson and how other people who have met him (one of which I posted on Love’s page) described him 6’7” when he met him. In addition, Dan Majerle has pegged Love at 6’7. My guess with him next to Chris Bosh and Joakim Noah in the pics I posted is that Bosh and Noah are both solid 6’10” guys and that Love is maybe 6’7.25. I’d put Lebron at about 6’6.75 barefoot. I think you have Durant and Howard close enough. Both may be 1/4” over 6’9.

Big Show is not under 6’10” I doubt. He was taller than Kevin durant in their picture. However, 6’10” flat is as tall as I would give him since Shaq had about 1.5” or so on him
Canson said on 16/Aug/18
@Undertaker Frank: I think it’s the other way around or they are the same height. Robinson only had Duncan by 1 or 1.5” I disagree with Sotiris about Duncan or Russell. Maybe Russell is 6’8” and change (weak 6’9) or strong 6’8” today but Duncan imho has always been 6’10” barefoot. However, I have seen where Lamarcus Aldridge looks taller so I’ll leave the door open for a hair under 6’10” honestly. But He was listed at 7’0” when he came in and was reduced to 6’11” when Robinson retired, likely not to have to play center.
Vegas' said on 16/Aug/18
Canson, it was Sotiris that estimated Howard at 6'10 not me. I was just comparing a guy he estimated 6'10 with one he estimated 6'8. I think Howard probably stands more than 6'9 flat though maybe 6'9.5 given he did look to edge out KD. Not sure what you mean by Kaman being taller when photo expands. I increased magnification 2-3 times and they still look similar.

Sotiris, slow down dude. Nobody is going to have time to open a million links in one post.

Going to try and address some of your points..ok here goes:

* Kelly Kelly/Show and your mother/you are completely different photos with different camera angles. Camera is to far left of Kelly while it's straight on in yours. The camera angle is different in the one of you and you parents on the street so you actually come out shorter in that one than the one in the store. Photos outside on the street are usually poor, your dad looks taller than 5'9 range there if you are 6'7 given top of his head comes to your mouth..but he clearly has advantage in photo as street seems to slope downward towards curb. Just one more point on this, comparing two people with two completely different people in a photo is of little value overall and certainly not ample evidence to use in height estimation.

Re: Dirk, unless you think there are ~7 inches between him and Show not sure why you keep using that photo as evidence. Again we can't see ground so we have to assume Dirk is standing on higher ground given the difference is nowhere near 7 inches in the full length shot on flat ground. Here is one of Dirk and KG standing side by side not 10 feet away Click Here We don't know KGs actual measured height though unlike Chris Kaman whom the NBA actually released his height w/o shoes on their offical website. The photo of the guy claiming 6'11 and Big Show doesn't help your case of a 6'8 Big Show given that he and Show were close in height not 2-3 inches difference!

Schwartz's waistline and crotch-area are much higher than Shows in the photo suggesting a little footwear help for Schwartz. There are lots of photos of Show and Schwartz out of gear standing next to the same people and Show being noticeably taller.

Re: Bam Adebayo. I can only find 6'9 and 6'8.75 barefoot measurements for him online. Regardless again photos have different camera angles with Show and Battier photographed likely from below. Show still comes out about an inch taller in comparison but the fact we don't have a full length shot of Show and Adebayo together we can't really compare the two properly Click Here

As regards Akebono what's your evidence that he was 6'6 peak? Sumo assocation of Japan are pretty adamant he was 203-204cm peak, not sure how accurate that is but one site did have his supposed measured height at different times from a teenager to yokozuna. The two photos of him you posted with Sapp are taken 12 years apart, one in December 2003, the other in December 2015. The latter he clearly is in bad shape physically and was admitted to hospital gravely ill just over a year later. Sapp does look 6'4 range as he had 3 inches easy on Lashley whom Rob met in person but Akebono looks taller in 2003 next to Sapp than in 2015. Show looked more than 2 inches taller than Bono in 2004-05. That shot is too far away to try and compare but JT did do this comparison Click Here Probably 5 inches between Shows eyeline and top of his head considering average is 4.5 inches Click Here

Barrett's closer to the camera there. There is zero chance that Barrett was only 3 inches shorter than Show out of gear. Barrett wasn't that much taller than Drew McIntyre (Galloway). Lots of photos and video of those two pre WWE on the UK and Irish circuit. Now McIntyre I met in person, in fact in same hotel as Show and trust me McIntyre is alot more than 3 inches shorter than Show out of wrestling gear. Again look at the basketball photo JT posted on August 10th. You are basically arguing that Barrett is/was taller than #34 John Smith who played center for a Division 1 team.

In play NBA shots are next to no value.

The pic of my brother (around 6'4" 230 lbs) next to a wax statue of 6'2" Morgan Freeman didn't show up in my last post b/c I overlapped the pic w/ some text, so here it is...
Click Here as compared to him and me... (around 6'7" back when I weighed 305 lbs, 5/6 years ago)... Click Here

My current weight is actually 260 lbs (down from 275 lbs) at a low body fat percentage. Fortunately, I lost only fat and not muscle... biceps: 18" down/18.5" pumped, chest: 53". Sadly, I'll 100% gain it back in the winter. My morning barefoot height (no socks) is around 6'7.75" and now that I lost weight, I find that sometimes I can go past midnight and stay at 6'7" rather than 6'6.75". I've even been known to stay at 6'7.25" if I spend a lazy Sunday at home all day.

I have no doubt Duncan is taller than Durant. Duncan is slouching noticeably in the photos with Dirk and Kobe and that's not uncommon for him. Look at him here with Yao and Kevin Garnett: Click Here Garnett is standing in front and raising his eye level, but if you look at the top of their heads, Garnett is just the slightest bit taller. Duncan is around the lower part of Yao's eyes or just below. That could even be a 6.5" difference considering Yao's head, but it's not an 8" difference and Yao's trainer claimed he had grown to 7'5.75" without shoes by the fall of 2004. I have no idea if he's being truthful, but this photo with 7'1.25" Mutombo was taken around that time: Click Here That does look an easy 4.5" difference. David Robinson is or was close to 7'0" and while this first photo favors Duncan, these leave little doubt Duncan is at the very least 6'10": Click Here Click Here Click Here Click Here

@Sotiris: you have pretty thick shoes on there lol

@Vegas: Kaman is about an inch taller once the pic expands

@Vegas: Howard is 6’9” not 6’10”

@Sotiris: Duncan is a little taller than KD and noticeably enough more than an inch over Russell. I know people who’ve met David Robinson and he’s at least 6’11” and doesn’t have Duncan by more than 1-1.5”. Duncan is a solid 6’10”. Look at him with Dirk Nowitzki. But I don’t think he’s over 6’10” either

Battier looked 6'6" or 6'6.5"next to Pat Riley, Spoelstra and Ray Allen.

Akebono measured 204-201cm as sumo in 90s.

Bam Adeboyo is shorter than 6'10.5" Hassan Whiteside.

Show at 6'8 would put Kane and Taker at 6'4. Lesnar/HHH/Goldberg all under 6 foot tall etc...

Funny.

Tim Duncan at 6-9 would be a bit of a surprise, but he was listed 6-10 in college. Very rare for a college player to be his listed height
-------------------
Tim Duncan measured 6'11" barefoot at the NBA predraft.

This article even refers to his college height being 6'10"

Dirk’s height is no great mystery. He’s 2 inches taller than Lamar Odom, who’s a solid 6’9” with 6’5” Kobe and 6’7” Vitali Klitschko. Click Here Odom supposedly measured 6’10” w/o shoes for the 1999 NBA draft but I have not seen anything official to confirm this.
--------------------
Lamar Odom was listed 6'10" during the draft, but he was not measured at that height. He skipped the predraft camp in Chicago, so no physical data is available for him from the 1999 draft.
