Interesting finding this forum. Anyone a fan of Jack Reacher books? I recently found out that Tom Cruise is bringing the character to life in the film adaptation of One Shot. Anyone who has read any of the popular series by Lee Child will know that it is possibly the most ridiculous, no, scandalous piece of casting ever! One of the most important and distinctive facets of the character Jack Reacher is his size. He is a 250 Ib, 6'5" beast of a man. Rugged and brutal. A lot of fans saw Hugh Jackman in the role. I've always thought Liev Shreiber would be perfect. To be honest, I would have cast Macauley Culkin over Tom Cruise! steven says on 15/Jan/12

I would tend to believe him if he outright said he was taller/bigger than Jackman. If he was lying then it would seem foolish to be so exact and claim to be taller than someone specific. 189.5 is my guess, perhaps 189 after a long day. IMO, clearly not the full 6'3". Also, he's not all that broad; it has a lot to do with the camera and his proportions. He's certainly broader than average, but not Dolph Lundgren broad, and I've mentioned that Phillip Noyce makes him look like a skinny kid :P.

Liev has his eyelevel 1.5cm above that of Reynolds. Reynolds huge forehead gives him 1cm of advantage, so Liev looks 0.5cm taller than Reynolds (Reynolds puffy hair disguises this). Plus, Ryan is clearly standing on one leg, so that would give him advantage (try it yourselves). I think Lieve might be 190cm spot on. James says on 27/Jul/11

He's a tall, broad guy. I think that 6'3" is correct for him. In 2009's X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE, he looks to be about 0.5"-1" taller than 6'2" Hugh Jackman. I think Schreiber can legitimately claim 6'3" for himself.

A truly bizarre recent shot with Ethan Hawke shows Hawke and Schreiber looking about the same height...I don't know what kind of trickery is at work here!:
