So this is interesting. I saw cage looking a solid six feet. His shoes didn't look like they had lifts. But I happen to know that Jon Voight is not 6'3", but was 6'2" prime and is now about 6'1". The height chart is from a movie and could be bogus. So perhaps Cage is 5'11" and wore lifts the day I saw him. I don't see him any shorter than 5'11". And he still might be six feet. Iwandered on this discussion by chance. I was watching the movie "Next" with Nicholas Cage and thought he was very skinny and googled that. I was surprised about the discussion of height. I am 6'6". Lots of men continue growing into their early twenties, and generally by age 20 to 24 they have achieved full stature. Well guys tend to take more after their mom's height. So how tall she is has alot to do with this. Also when you started puberty has a huge impact because you may be done growing. I coach the football team at the high school i teach at also. There are about 3,000 kids at the school. It is in LA so we have a huge diverse group of kids from all racial backgrounds. We measure and weigh all of the football players and I would say about 30-40% of them are at least 6 foot. jon says on 5/Apr/09

Although I may see many people taller than I, I do realize I'm MUCH taller than the average American man. It's worthwhile to realize that the reason why you may have the illusion that people "are taller" now, as opposed to an earlier generation, is rather for the fact that there are more people around us than ever before (look at population statistics). If you come from a family of genuinely tall people like I do than you'd realize how untall 183cm really is. I myself am 6ft2.75 but I have an uncle on my mother's side of the family whose 6ft and completely stands out. My dad is 6ft3.25 (6ft4 peak), My brother is 6ft3.5, my dad's uncles are 6ft4, 6ft6 and 6ft4.5 respectively. My mother is 5ft10.5 and my sister 5ft10 who in a pair of heels would be taller than him.

I think I may have been fooled by his truly horrendous posture. When he stands up straight(which is rare) I now see him taller than 6 foot flat. Probably 6'0.25", 6'0.5" but possibly 6'1".

To answer the questions below of what is considered tall, I will give my opinion on the issue. The avergage American man is a little over 5'10" so 6' really isnt a tall height as its not even 2 inches above average. I am 6'3" and I see people taller than me almost everyday. 1% on average reach 6'4", so that is quite a tall height, but nothing amazing.
Here is what I classify as the different height groups for men:
Midget=Under 5'4"
Pathetically short=5'4" to 5'6"
Short=5'7" to 5'9"
Average=5'10" to 6'0"
Mildly Tall=6'1" to 6'2"
Tall=6'3" to 6'5"
Very Tall=6'6" to 6'8"

He's tricky because sometimes he really gives the impression of a guy well over six feet but when he stands next to some people he under six feet. For example look at him next to Jim Carrey, Pierce Brosnan, Sean Connery, Samuel L Jackson and Lionel Richie.

Keitel is slouching too. He is standing very casually with his hands in his posture, neck down(note how it seems he has almost no neck) and his legs are at an angle meaning he could be bending his knees. Besides Leung, I usually judge height from premiere pictures because in movies a lot of tricks can be done. That's not to say that you can't get good shots for estimating height from movies when the camera angle is good and the footwear is clear but in general premiere pictures are better for comparing height. Honestly I can't see how anyone thinks he's 6'1", 6 foot even seems to be a stretch to me. If he's 6 foot then he's the shortest looking 6 foot guy I've ever seen. He looked a good 3 inches shorter than Samuel L Jackson and about 2 shorter than Carrey, he wasn't slouching either. Keep in mind that Cage is standing very straight while Jackson is leaning and Carrey is slightly leaning.
The Brosnan picture is the shortest I've seen him look since he's looking up and Pierce is looking down but Pierce is still quite a bit taller. The Sean Connery picture also backed that up to me. The thing is that he doesn’t look 6’ occasionally; he looks 6’ all the time. Regarding Cage’s choice of footwear, yes I have seen photos of him out socially wearing cowboy boots but if you watch his movies he tends to wear very normal footwear or whatever is relevant to his character.

That's possible but all I'm saying is he certainly has footwear that you could fit pretty big lifts in and if a known lift wearer like Sly, Pitt or Downey wore some of the shoes he does everyone would be sure they were wearing lifts.
While you may be right I'm just saying based on his footwear it's very possible that he's a lift wearer. At the very least he often has a footwear advantage over other people.
Another thing that backs up 5'11" to me is that even with a fairly thin frame and big heeled boots he never looks taller than 6'1". That's 'cause Cage is most likely 6'1" and Travolta is most likely 6' even. I've seen both men and Cage was at least two inches taller than me and I'm 5'11". And cage wasn't wearing special shoes.
