These aren't self-reported heights. These are measured. The measured average for the younger generation of white males is 5'10.4", black amles at 5'10.1", and hispanic males just over 5'7". This is not an opinion, and these aren't self reported heights. I'm surprised you don't follow the CDC report.

Actually, the average male should stop growing completely at 22, some sources say 21`but growth is unpredictable. My brother was 6'3 when he was 22, at 25 he was 197cm over 191cm in only 3 years.

MD, most people in US still think 180cm is 6 feet so they always manage to state their height over 2.5 inches then they actually are. As i said, 5'10 is far fetched. I agree the latin community may have a 5'7 or 5'6 average height and the white population about 5'9. the average height always falls when there are more races of shorter "height" people in a country and the US is a melting pot of different races and cultures and Taylor is a mixed actor, being part french, dutch and amerindian, all these races have generally been known to have over 5'9 average height so in the next few years, we may expect him to grow atleast an inch if not more so kirk, if you are correct in saying that he is 5'6, then he may reach around 5'10 in 3 years if he is lucky. jin says on 17/Nov/09

Well in those pictures down there, see you don't know what type of footwear he's wearing (he wears lifts so you don't know). Also the floor does not look leveled. Taylor looks as tall as Robert there. I realize it's not a good pic since we can't see their shoes, but the chances are, he's wearing huge footwear (as always) that might actually give him about two to three inches. I doubt this guy will continue growing at age of 17,5. Most young men have their grow spurt between 13 and 16. Nowadays the corporal adolescence has "moved backwards" which means men/women are "ready" much earlier than 50-60 years ago. A lot of people think most males continue to grow well until they are 21, but that's not really accurate. It may be accurate if you are growing steadily, but if you haven't really grown in one or two years, and you are 17-18. You are done growing most likely. Taylor isn't going to grow anymore then a inch at most. If that. I'm a guy, and I noticed most of my guys friends got the majority of their final height in the 17-18 range. I don't think bulking up hinders growth. He was only born in 1992 so he's only 17-18 which means he still might have some room to grow. Men's growth plates usually don't close til 20-21. Women develop faster than men in all respects so they tend to stop growing at only 18-19. Jay says on 27/Aug/09

only seem to vary so much in neck length because of shoulder elevation. The actual length of the neck (cervical area of the spine) doesn't actually vary much between different ppl. Therefore, somebody like Shawn Marion (and me) with very square-shoulders or high-mounted will appear to have no neck.. Taylor Lautner just has very sloping or low-mounted shoulders which makes the neck more prominent and look longer. linke says on 3/Aug/09

Kristen isn't below his eyes, look closely. The top of her head (not where the hairline starts) is above his eyeline.
Considering on average from eyes to top of head its 4.5" then Taylor is no more than 3.5" taller than Stewart.
