He's at that age now where a wee drop is quite common. He's one year older than my father, who measured 5ft 10.2in at his peak (late 20's). We did a measurement of him recently, and he had dropped to 5ft 9.7in.
I could see a similar drop for Clooney. 5ft 10.7-8in or so at peak, and about 5ft 10.2-3in today. Some people lose more height than others over the years, and those who took good care of their body in their youth, like my uncle did, will often have little to no loss of height. He claims he was a little over 181 cm at his peak - I measured him myself last year: still going strong at more or less 181 cm flat at the age of 68.

Editor Rob I think losing a fraction at George's age is possible. I'm taking this almost 5ft 11 as his peak mark, he could have dripped down a fraction now.

George is a 5'10" guy. Perhaps, he's one of those who you should take a bit of extra time over the next few days to research, because it's well past time to get him listed more accurately. This is starting to be one of the more glaring poor listings.

I saw a photo of him with Matt and Brad barefooted on a boat. Clooney looks 1 1/2 to 2 inches shorter than Brad and about 1 inch shorter than Matt. Face-wise, George is TOPS! George is @ 5'9inches.

A lot of celebs lie when it comes to height, but it's not really all height but PRESENCE, CHARISMA, AND THE "FACE"...the face takes precedence overall. I've seen tall men and some of them are very ugly if not only average joes, no charisma just longer bones.

Generally I think the differences between Clooney, Damon and Pitt is almost listed spot on. But I would say Clooney is 0.5" shorter than Pitt, and Damon is in fact the full inch shorter than Pitt. So if Pitt is kept at 5'11, Clooney is 5'10.5 and Damon is 5'10. But that would be their maximum heights imo, can't really ever see anything over that for either of them.

The video with Mel Gibson proves the listing should be lowered a bit, 5'10.25 at most for Clooney. He absolutely doesn't wake at 5'11.5, and I doubt he even wakes at a flat 5'11.

He's hunched over a bit, and still looks about 2 cm taller than Gibson from what I can see in the vid. 178 cm range is fine for Cloon in his mid 50's. Close to 180 cm in his prime, but that doesn't matter much now does it. I really doubt he's 179,5-180 cm now.
PS: I really feel for the 179,xx cm guys that never fully reached the 180 mark. My dad is one of those guys, and adding to the pain, he has shrunk an inch in his 40's and 50's. 5'11 is the perfect height in my eyes, I for one am immensely glad I made it to 180 :)

It confuses me why 5ft 11.5 is so much taller than clooney. OK he has some advantage here, but I'm seeing 1.5 to two inches taller. Add to that there is some debate if beckham is more 5ft 11. Also why did 5ft 11 Gordon Brown appear much taller?

I am trying to dig out a picture I took with him while he was filming Three Kings.I am 6' tall and he was considerably shorter...my guess 5'9". Everybody that took pics with him(and he was a real gentleman)remarked about his height.

Although I can't agree with you on Clooney Mr. R, you'll be pleased to know that Ving Rhames was dropped from 5'11.5" to the 5'10.5" that you alwayes estimated him at. Everyone on that page seems to agree with that now as well.

Mr.R I fully agree with you on this, I met at last years Critic's Choice party walked past him several times, I even asked my 5'11 friend who I measured personally to stand next to him, and George was shorter.

Neither have great posture, but they seem to be almost the same height. As far as I could tell Clooney's shoes looked like normal dress shoes that night.
That same night Clooney measured up pretty well to 6'1" Clint Eastwood, especially considering Clooney was slouching.

I suspect with better posture that Clooney could look over the top of Maguire's head. Maguire gets listed here at 5'7.75" but I think he could be closer to 5'7". I met George during the "Good Night and Good Luck" tour. I stood on the stage right next to him. I am 5-11.5 George was between 5-9 and 5-10. He is at best 5-10 on a GOOD day! I will fight this one to the death!

I used to claim 5'11.5 when in reality i am 5'10.5-5'10.75. 5'11.5 is a very honest sounding height because most people in their right mind would just claim 6'. i think this claim reeks of over compensation. same with McConaughey.
