Is about 5'8-5'9" without shoes. Good posture and chunky footwear can make him look as tall as 5'11". I have not met him myself, but a friend of mine (5'11" w/o shoes) was an extra on Milk and said that he walked right by him and took a double take when he noticed that Penn was a good 3 inches or so shorter then him. Granted my friend is 24 years old and Penn was pushing 50 at this point. 5'9" and some change is the tallest Penn has ever been. Doesn't really matter how tall he is though, he's a solid actor. I saw Sean Penn with Eddie Veddar at the Triple Door in Seattle. Tim Robbins was performing with a band, man...was he bad. Sean Penn look like he was 5'9"-10", but he was wearing boots with, at least, two inch heels. He went outside a lot to smoke with Eddie. Eddie Veddar looked like he was 5'6" to 5'7". In friends he was slightly taller than lisa kudrow who is 5 foot 8. He was probably wearing lifts. 5 foot 8. He always looked that height. Shorter than charlie sheen. And before you try arguing Rob pinpoints celeb's heights, his figures are estimations as well.
