Looks like Brie Larson and Olivia Colman are still off the list here (Emma Stone is one despite winning between those two). Also Frances McDormand won this award again in the meantime.

Pam, you’re totally right, and it’s disappointing that our world is like that. It is changing though. It’s nice to see tall models in the fashion industry. Women of all heights should be appreciated, and this goes for guys as well. The unfair perceptions we have today will change, slowly, as time goes on, as it always has. There’s always a spark of hope:)

So Nicole is the tallest Oscar best actress award recipient

This just confirms what I already knew: the damn television and movie industries are totally biased towards short, fragile, petite "delicate-looking" women, which totally sucks for us, tall women, 5'11" and taller. It seems likr the Gina Davis and Brook Shields of the world will NEVER win an Oscar, based on bias. The same goes for news women, news anchors, god forbid a tall woman "rivaling" any male anchor, ever appears as the lead on a news show!

You forgot someone... Brie Larson??

Interesting, but not surprising that the tallest women *tend* to be the more recent of the list and the shortest of the lot from 100 years ago.

Time to add another winner (and looker) Brie Larson.

Rob, if it's not too much trouble could you do a list for the Supporting Actor/Actresses as well?
[Editor Rob: when I get time I will.]

Cool that you have over a foot height range from Pickford to Kidman in winner height range!

I don't deny that they mostly have major acting talent but it must be said that a majority of these women are quite gorgeous, more fairly average looking fellas in the Best Actor winners side. Good for women like Kathy Bates, Marie Dressler and Louise Fletcher who undoubtedly had an uphill battle for success in Hollywood, a rather superficial (and historically male-centric) industry.
[Editor Rob: I had forgotten some of the actresses who had one. Totally forgot Glenda Jackson won two of them! Yes, they are predominantly a rather attractive bunch.]
